EDITED

The flight was six and a half hours to Alaska, and I slept through most of it thankfully.

Upon arriving at the small airport in Juneau, I grab my duffle bag from the overhead compartment and sling it over my shoulder as I depart the mostly empty plane.

My inner wolf quivers as I step foot into the bitter cold air outside the plane onto the jetway where we were getting off the plane.

He's near.

As I walk towards the medium sized building that is Juneau Airport, I pull my jacket out from my bag and throw it on. Once inside the airport I just walk through the small crowds of people to the entrance of the Airport.

Juneau is not a huge city even though it is the Capitol of Alaska, my plan is to ask around town about Brandon Keys until I find him. Or just follow my gut, I'll probably just follow my gut.

I don't even bother with a taxi as I want to save my money, so I set out on foot towards the city which seems to be a few miles away.

Brandon Keys, you have no idea what you're in for.

** a few hours later **

If I shift into my wolf I would find him faster but I can't carry my bag as a wolf and I can't just leave it anywhere.

Most people here are natives to Alaska, and have large coats to wear in this chilly weather, sighing I keep walking through the city streets as I try not to worry about looking out of place.

All of a sudden I turn a corner and I see him.

It was only a second but my wolf screamed at me; This is him, follow him.

I don't know how exactly I knew this was Brandon Keys, but my inner wolf has only been wrong once when it came to men. I hurriedly follow Brandon around a corner, keeping my distance as much as possible.

From what I can see, he has short brown shaggy hair, and he is fairly tall, taller than Damon and Klaus.

I follow the other Lycanthrope for what feels like half an hour before I realize we are on a country road leading to some type of farm I assume, we are out of the city now.

My boots crunch on the dirt ground and I am positive he knows I'm following him, but he makes no move to stop me.

But in a flash faster than I am prepared for, I am pinned to the ground, my head smacking into the dirt making me cry out in pain. My head spins slightly and I struggle to reopen my eyes.

I spoke to soon about him making no move to stop me, I think as I move my hand to touch the base of my neck which is sore.

"Who are you? What do you want from me?" Brandon shouts into my face as he pins my arms down with his hands, his eyes a wild electric blue that seem to wildly search my face for answers.

My lungs seems to collapse as I stare up into his eyes, these bright crystal blue orbs, glowing bright they are so blue.

I cough once and groan slightly as my head still throbs where it hit the ground, I close my eyes to focus on something other than his eyes.

"My name is Debria Lockwood, I am the other Lycanthrope. And you are Brandon Keys, the last male Lycanthrope," I say slowly, and then open my eyes to look up at him.

Hesitantly, Brandon gets off of me and helps me to my feet.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know. My house is down this way, my father is away on a trip to northern Alaska to hunt, but should be back in a week or so. You're welcome to stay with me," Brandon offers me, his guard immediately down as he probably senses me through his own inner wolf now.

I narrow my eyes at him,

"You don't know me from Adam, yet you want to open your home to me?"

Brandon shrugs as he looks down at me,

"Isn't that why you followed me? To have some place to stay? Or did you follow me just say hello?"

"I guess, I mostly just wanted to see if you were real. I didn't know what to expect honestly," I say and tuck my hair behind my ears.

"You must've felt that the other lycanthrope was killed. We are what is left of our species. We need to stick together," Brandon gives me a small smile and then takes my bag from the ground and starts walking towards his house.

I jog a bit to catch up to his long strides, damn my short legs,

"So why Alaska?"

"My family has lived here the last ten generations, my father told me Alaska is remote enough that we could carry on the Lycanthrope gene without being disturbed," Brandon explains, then looks me over,

"Where are you from?"

"Mystic Falls Virginia, a supernatural cesspool of crap. Don't go there, trust me," I say then chuckle a little too darkly.

Brandon smiles slightly, thankfully changing subject,

"Why did you want to come find me?"

"I wanted a fresh start. My entire life has been dedicated to learning about what I am, and then it became about protecting my pack, and then I thought I found my mate but unfortunately it didn't work out, he loves another. So here I am, banging on your door, hoping you'll be my fresh start," I say slowly, and look up at him a little shyly.

Brandon smiles down at me now and we come to a stop as we reach the door of his small farm house.

"Debria, you have no idea how long I've been waiting for the other female Lycanthrope to come find me," he says gently before opening the door and letting me inside before him.

I step into the cozy cabin-like house and take off my jacket, Brandon gestures for me to follow him down a short hallway.

Opening a door to our left he says,

"This can be your room, my dad's room is upstairs, and mine is right here." He gestures to the door directly across from his.

I nod and smile up at him,

"Thank you Brandon, I appreciate all of this."

"It's really no problem Debria," Brandon says, his eyes boring into mine.

A deeper connection ran between us, deeper than anything I've felt with anyone before, a connection of two Lycanthropes together in one place in the same frame of time.

I wonder if the lycanthrope before me, Annalise, found the Lycanthrope that was Brandon before.

Brandon and I are after all, just reincarnations of the previous Lycanthropes. And a certain familiarity like I had with Elijah comes over me as I stare at this man before me.

"I'll...leave you to get....settled," Brandon says slowly, breaking off our staring contest.

I cough a little,

"Right, where is the bathroom?"

"Right down the hall, the little door on the right," Brandon tells me.

"Thanks," I quietly mutter, and I sneak a glance at him again only to find him staring at me too...
