Adeles POV

"Hurry up kids! We are going to be late to Aunt Laura's!" I shout, impatiently standing next to the door.

Each of the kids quickly come running to the front door.

"You know what I've been standing here for like an hour, we are leaving without your father," I say to them with a laugh as we head out the door.

"No, wait!" Simon yells as he struggles to put his coat and shoes on and runs after us.

"Now I wonder who's idea it was to leave me behind," Simon jokingly says looking straight at me as we get into the car.

"It wasn't my idea to leave you behind daddy! It was Mummy!" Angelo seriously says.

"Don't worry I knew exactly who did Peanut." He says as we all begin to laugh.

"Well, it's your fault for being so slow Konecki," I say with a chuckle as I turn to look at his eyes which looked less sparkly than usual.

"Babe are you okay? My teasing didn't get to you did it?" I jokingly ask.

"Yep. I'm just a little nervous that's all." He replies adjusting the rearview mirror.

"For anything in particular?" I curiously ask.

"You'll see." He says with a wink.

"Yay! Adele, you're finally here!" Laura yells as she opens the front door and hugs me.

"Happy New Year Aunt Laura!" Angelo squeaks.

"Awww thanks! But not yet Peanut!" Laura says as she ruffles Angelo's hair and smiles.

I watch my kids play, as I get lost in my thoughts.

"I can't believe you're getting two more of them! Ahhh, I'm just so excited!" She excitedly whispers, as if she read my mind.

I don't answer continuing to stare at them happily playing together.

Laura breaks my daydreamer again, "Come on there's so many people I want you to meet!" She eagerly squeals dragging me through the crowd of people before I can protest.

"Adele, this is Christina, I know you guys will have a lot in common!

I've known Christina for a while now.

She is part of that company I used to work for, and she so happened to in town for New Years so it worked out," Laura says introducing us.

"Hi, I'm-,"

"Adele! Yes, I know, it's an honour to meet you!" She says cutting me off, smiling.

"It seems like everyone knows me these days." I jokingly say with a cackle.

We begin to talk more about ourselves when someone very very familiar walks up and wraps his arms around her.
