Chapter 6
Crash went my life today.
I did not think it would come to this but it did. After being married for twenty years, my parents decided to divorce. My perfect little family. Crash.
What goddamned reason did you have to divoce?
I never saw them bickor or fight. They were always calm around me and each other. I cannot even fathom what could be the reason.
It all went like this:
I did my morning routines of going to the bathroom to clean myself up, put on my comfy clothes and come downstairs for my breakfast.
I said good morning to both my parents and Sylvia of course.
I was in my amazingly good mood as usual and sat down to wait for breakfast to be served.
''After breakfast we must have a word with you, Diana,'' My father told me strictly.
''Umm, sure thing I guess. Am I in trouble?'' I asked, bitting my lip.
He swatted with his hand. ''No not at all. Just family stuff.''
''Alright,'' I said suspiciously.
We only had family stuff to discuss if something was really wrong or something really great. By the looks on my parents faces it was so like not really great news. In fact, it seemed to be the worst news.
My mother was awfully quiet the entire time we were having breakfast and so was my dad. No one spoke. Only if someone needed something passed to them.
Truthfully, I sat afraid. I was worried. For the first time in a quite long time I was like, actually worried about something for real.
We finished our breakfast and my dad stood up first from his seat and walked off, saying ''Once everyone is finished, please join me in the living room.''
I gulped and moved some hair away from my face.
My mother kept her eyes down as she was finishing her food. Swallowing the last piece she stood up and walked off towards the living room.
I sat dumfounded with my mouth open a little in shock.
''Sylvia,'' I whispered. ''What is going on?''
She turned to me and shrugged her shoulders.
Great, she always seemeded to know everything in this house and now she had no clue what was going on at the moment.
I stood up and shakily made my way slowly as a snail to the living room.
''Diana, sit.'' My dad spoke as I entered and stood at the entrance.
I did as he told me and made myself comfortable on the armchair which did not seem as comforting as it had been before. Now it felt like I was sitting on a cold, hard rock.
''You mother and I,'' he continued, ''decided we need to take time from each other.''
''Well okay, and...?'' I asked confused with where this was going.
''We decided to divorce.''
That's where the crash hit me. Like a window has been shattered inside me. At that moment I had forgotten every single thing. I was no longer Diana the queen, the mean one, the bitchy one, or the hateful one. I was a completely different person. I became the soft, hurtful, emotional, weak, Diana.
