Chapter 6: Maika's POV

Let's start on my list of happiness: #1: I'M GOING ON A QUEST!, #2: The boat is awesome, #3: I was claimed! Now, my worried list: #1: Hestia has never had any children, #2: I could die, #3: Where's my new dagger? Even though I'm a peacekeeper, I had to get a dagger for the quest. Oh, here it is.

I settled into my bunk and hung pictures from Olympus. I then looked in alarm at this sleeping person who's legs were hanging off his wall bed. I looked at the photos of Olympus again. I had been raised there. It was like my little warm log cabin, even though it was huge. I felt welcome there. Anyways, Hestia had never had children until she took interest into my dad. I never knew him, and I don't know his name. Being a child of Hestia can be a blessing or a curse. Lots of people think I should've never been born, but the gods didn't seem to mind after a while. Chiron still had his doubts about if I was a child of Hestia. Hestia had given me specific instructions on how to persuade Chiron: a letter of introduction and showing the certain powers I had. I did both. I had shown him what I knew about architecture-- it's a Hestia thing, and I showed him more others.

"Maika! Come check this out!" a girl named Xenia said. The last thing I did was hang a picture of Leo on the wall. I smiled. I climbed off of my bunk to see what Xenia was talking about. I followed this girl named Earth into this huge space. It was a giant relaxation room. I caught my breath. Wow. Whoever had built this ship was amazing. The architecture was amazing also.

"That's awesome. We better get moving," I said, but the farther away we get, the farther from Olympus.

"Yes. I can sense a storm coming," Indie replied. Indie left and suddenly the boat jerked forward. We had gracefully departed from the harbor. Now we were vulnerable to sea monsters and more. I hoped attacks wouldn't happen.

My birth is very...weird. I was born from Hestia's flame. Hestia had quickly taken me to Olympus as a child and raised me there. She had taught me all I needed...except fighting. She wouldn't pick up a blade unless she had too.

I got out my iPad while I was on my bunk a few hours later. The ship even had wifi. I searched on my iPad looking for some good jokes. I loved jokes. That's why I had fallen for the mysterious Leo Valdez. Suddenly, the boat jerked to a hault. My iPad fell to the floor. I quickly picked it up. It had cracked. Great.

"Where are you, Percy Jackson? I can sense Poseidon blood on this ship," a voice said. All I knew, Percy wasn't on this ship, but Indie was.
