Chapter 16: Derek's POV

There was one thing I felt when I first arrived on the ship: awkwardness. People looked at me stunned and tried not to look alarmed. The only people I knew pretty well was only Xenia, Earth, and Maika, and those were all girls. The wind seemed very strong today. It felt odd. Suddenly, a man ten feet tall with wings was on the ship.

"Oh, great," Kat muttered. "Another monster."

"I am certainly not a monster! I am Notus, the south wind," the god replied.

"Notice? Why do you have a name like that?" Darci asked puzzled.

"Uggh. You silly demigod. I am Notus, not notice," he replied annoyed. "Well, after that introduction. I have no choice but to-- well-- kill you all and destroy this ship." Butterflies in my stomach appeared. I had to protect them. It was my fault they were in this mess.

He rose his hands and all of a sudden, plants that were on the ship withered, we had to stop him fast. He then looked at Kat.

"You called me a monster. You, young lady, are coming with me," Notus said. And with that, Kat disappeared. I grew very, very angry. I concentrated. Notus's facial expression immediately changed. I had no idea what I did for him to do that.

"Ooh!" he said goofily to a piece of wood, "You are such a babe!" He grabbed the wood and started dancing with it. All of us, except Kat since she was gone, bursted out laughing. After a few minutes, he came to his senses. He then looked at Darci.

"You did this," he accused.

"I did n-" Darci tried to say. She disappeared, probably going where Kat was now. He shook his head. He stared at me.

"You are actually the one who did this, son of Eris. You will pay," Notus said. Last thing I saw was a gorgeous woman that smelled like roses appear on the ship.

I was mist, traveling about 150 miles per hour. My face felt like it would peel off. Not. Fun. I traveled south and landed with a thud on a small island. I then saw Kat and Darci waiting. I staggered over there.

"Are you ok?" I asked. I hardly even knew them.

"Yeah. I guess we're stranded or something. I guess Notus doesn't have good geography sense," Kat replied.

"What did you do back there?" Darci asked me.

"What do you mean?" I said confused.

"You know, the crazy thing that happened to Notus. You caused that," Darci explained.

"Oh, yeah. I guess I got too angry or something. You see, my mother is Eris, the goddess of chaos and discord. I guess I made his brain hibernate or something," I replied.

"Yeah. It was cool. I wish I could do that. I can just steal and stuff," Kat muttered. I knew immediately that she was being too hard on herself.

"So, how do we get off this island?" Darci asked.

"Can't you work your magic to get us away from here?" Kat said. Darci suddenly grew interested in her shoes. She sighed.

"That takes a lot of energy, Kat, and I might not be able to transport all of us," Darci replied. I knew she was right. We had to find a different way to get off this island.
