Chapter 7: Alexandria's POV

A very large person arose from the sea. My knees shook. I didn't even know who she was, but I was afraid. Indie didn't look so good either. I couldn't blame her. She did not threaten the monster, and neither did I.

"Where are you? Oh, you are a daughter of Poseidon, aren't you, little demigod? I will crush you!" the monster threatened.

"Who-who are you?" Indie stammered.

"I am the great Keto, goddess of the sea!" she announced. "And I will destroy this ship."

"Oh no you won't!" I challenged. This goddess was not going to take away the precious ship that would help us complete our quest.

"Is that a challenge, useless demigod?" Keto asked.

"Yes. If I was useless, I wouldn't have been chosen to go on this quest," I replied angrily. What am I doing? I thought.

"It's on," Keto challenged. She picked me up. I summoned grape vines to tangle her. She easily broke it. I got even more angry. The vines thickened and she was tangled. She dropped me into the sea.

Before I fell into the water, I heard her say, "Gah! Stupid demigod!" I plunged into the sea. I forgot I couldn't swim. As I drifted down, something grabbed me.

I woke up in the water but I was somehow breathing. Sleek seal-like animals were all around me. I realized they were telkhines. I quickly grabbed my sword, Theatra, and pointed it at them. They looked startled.

"We're not enemies!" a telkhine said. I pointed the blade at him.

"How should I know? Prove it," I said. One telkhine started to cry, which was weird.

"We helped make the weapon for Kronos! We feel awful!" the crying telkhine said. I couldn't help but take pity on him.

"You saved me. What's the status on the ship?" I asked.

"Keto left after vines almost strangled her," the crying telkhine said.

"That was my vines!" I said astonished.

"No. Some other demigods helped too," a telkhine said.

"I need a ride back," I said.

"Farewell," the crying telkhine replied. I then dissolved into mist.

When I got back in board, they were astonished.

"What happened?" Adam asked.

"Some telkhines saved me," I said. Indie gasped. She shook her head in disbelief. I looked at her strange.

"Telkhines are enemies of the gods and their children. What did they say?" Xenia asked.

"They begged their forgiveness and said something about a weapon for Kronos," I replied.

"Kronos's scythe," Darci explained. "The telkhines made Kronos's scythe in the second Titan War. Sadly, my mom was supporting the Titans."

"That explains some things," Earth said, "Let's pick our guarding hours."
