Chapter 15: Maika's POV

Getting the key seemed almost too easy. It was almost two in the morning, and I sure felt like it was. Xenia and Earth followed me. We went to the very back of the office. I felt as if the curiosity was pulling me towards it. I looked at Earth. She nodded. We were about to find out what exactly was in that pithos. I did the honors; I opened it. I peered inside. A small figure lied in the middle of the pithos. On the other hand, a small shape escaped. It was Hope. We then were interrupted by a voice.

"What are you doing?!" Pandora said sharply. The lid was still off the pithos. Pandora gasped. The figure climbed out, and it immediately grew in size. It really wasn't an it. A pretty tall guy, about 14, looked angrily at Pandora.

"Really, Pandora? Why did you have to lock me in your stupid box?" the guy asked.

"First, it's not a box. It's a pithos. I thought you would know that by now. Second, your mother is Eris, the goddess of chaos and discord. I have to store chaotic things in my pithos so that they would never be opened to the world!" she explained.

"I'm guessing your brain is the size of a walnut," the guy said, "Oh, wait. I know it's smaller." Pandora growled at him.

"And now, these demigods ruined my plan to keep you in my pithos!" she said sadly.

"Why didn't you steal the key again from Ephimetheus like you did the last time?" Earth asked curiously.

"My husband got a cord that has a lock on it! I don't know the code!" Pandora answered.

"By the way, it's 3.14," I said, smiling. Pandora clutched her ears and wailed.

"You demigods curse me once again! That Percy Jackson kid sacrificed my pithos to your mother, Maika. And where did it end up? It went back to me! To haunt and destroy my life like it did many centuries ago! So now, I collect things like Derek and store it so that it won't see daylight again! Yet, now you ruined my plans," Pandora thoroughly explained.

"I'm a human! You don't just lock people up that happened to have a mother like Eris!" Derek replied.

"You will go back in that pithos, Derek Williams," Pandora said.

"Think again," he said, trying to act brave. For some reason, we all had the same idea. We crashed into the window. I know, it sounded painful, but surprisingly it really wasn't.

We headed back to the rooms and turned the lights on.

"Guys! Get up!" I told them.

"Wha- What's wrong?" Darci asked groggily.

"Just a thing with Pandora," I replied.

"Yeah. We kind of made her mad," Xenia added. Everyone instantly shot out of bed. They raced to get ready. Duke was the first one done.

"So, who's your boyfriend?" Duke asked me. My face reddened.

"He's not my boyfriend, Duke. We found him in Pandora's pithos," I said.

"Ah. Hey, what's your name! Do you like sleeping on the floor?" Duke weirdly asked.

"I guess," he replied uncomfortably. Oh, I got it. Duke was talking about the sleeping arrangements on the ship.

When everyone was on board, we quickly set out. We then had no idea we were the next target to the wind.
