Chapter 23: Alexandria's POV

Short summary of the highlight of my life: I almost died. It actually turned out pretty well because Adam and I turned out to be meant for each other! We walked towards the dining hall to eat some tasty food. We sat by each other, and Adam pulled the chair out for me so I could sit down. What a gentleman.

"Hey, guys. Thanks for taking care of me and stuff," I thanked. Everyone nodded in a silent thanks. Adam held my hand. Ralph was the first one to notice.

"Wait. You guys are a couple?" he asked, stunned.

"Yep," Adam replied. Ralph looked shocked. I wondered why. People date all the time. I ate my cheeseburger. It was as good as always. I started to think about the other demigods like Derek, Darci, and Kat that had been blown away-- literally. I knew we were coming to them. I started to think about the first lines. With the plague and the cough, the lyre's tune will be cut off. Ugg. I hated prophecies. I decided to bring it up.

"Hey, guys. What about the line about how the plague and the cough will make the lyre's tune cut off? What does that mean?" I asked.

"I have no clue," Indie said.

"Yeah," said Maika, "I don't know either." Then, Destania's face darkened. She looked like she was thinking something awful.

Suddenly, a screech came from the upper deck. Suddenly, I began to feel woozy. I fell out of my chair and hit the floor. Everyone else did the same. I blacked out.

I woke up strangely in my wall bed. I looked around. The others were asleep. What happened? My whole body ached. I tried to move but my muscles flared.

"Lupe! With your powers, they will die off," someone said. I tried to strain my neck to see them. I couldn't.

"Ah, yes," the spirit named Lupe replied. I then heard someone wheezing and coughing. I looked below me while my muscles flared. It was Destania. She didn't look so hot. Ha. Ha. Get it? Nevermind. This wasn't the time. I could only feel sorry for her. I decided to go back to sleep even with lingering thoughts in my mind.

I woke up again. I was in a chair in the living room on the ship. Everyone else was there. None of them looked good. I longed for some ambrosia. Destania looked the worst. I somehow had a mental conversation with her.

"What happened?" I asked.

"I don't know," she replied in my head. Then, three spirits came in the room. From their presence, I could already feel more pain coming into my body.

"Looks like some people are awake," Lupe said. I snarled.

"What do you want with us?" I managed to say, but every word was painful. Destania started to widly cough again.

"What do we want? Well, our lord will reward us. He promised that he would make the world full of pain and misery!" she replied.

"That's stupid," I remarked. Lupe didn't look so happy.

"I can make you hurt so bad, demigod. Don't underestimate me," she hissed. Destania looked like she was going pale.

"Leave her alone!" Destania said bodly.

"Oh I will but I won't with you," Lupe replied sharply. She dragged Destania out of the room along with Ralph and Duke. They left, and I was scared and hurting.
