SABRIEL POV

I was a little tired after the long day yesterday with Mr Yajime but it was worth it.

He was ecstatic about everything and couldn’t wait to show off tomorrow night. He’d decided to invite the guild to be his first customers to try the new menu, besides Laxus of course and he was going to make an event out of it and for that reason I had the morning off.

I decided to head to the guild hall, it felt  like I hadn't seen everyone in so long. My life seemed to be go go go since I arrived which wasn’t entirely a bad thing.

I sat down at the table with everyone and we proceeded to explain what we'd all been up to. I was quite excited to finish up this job at 8 Island as much as I enjoyed it I hadn’t had a chance to use my magic yet and that was the original reason I was here.

Everyone seemed to be really excited about the party tonight. I looked around the room trying to spot a familiar face when Mira's voice sounded behind me.

“He’s gone on a job”

“When will he be back?” I found myself saying and mentally scolded myself. She gave me that sympathetic look which let me know it would be a while.

“It was an S class mission so at least a couple weeks” she said

I suddenly felt my mood plummet and I think Mira felt the change. She placed a hand on my shoulder giving me a reassuring squeeze before heading back to the bar. Luckily it didn’t seem anyone else noticed.

“I heard the master saying Laxus went to see him around 11 pm asking if he could take the job and left not long after that” I heard Erza say.

There was a pain in my chest at hearing her words, that was around the time he left 8Island he must have gone straight after. I shook off the negative thoughts and decided I’d just throw myself into work. Obviously it wasn’t a big deal to him so why would I make it one.

The party that night was a hit but I didn't stay long beyond supervising the food and mingling for a few minutes. I kept my head down the rest of the week And worked my butt off to make the  restaurant a success. By the end of the week my reward had been doubled and my rent was officially paid for the next couple months. But I didn’t stop there.

LAXUS POV

Dropping my bag off at home I then made my way to the guild hall. I’d taken my time coming home, a job that should’ve taken me a week or two I managed to stretch out to six weeks. It was good it had given me time to think and come to a decision about what I would do.

I decided I would stay away from Sabriel I’d ignore the strange way she made me feel and just keep going on with life as if she’d never walked into it.

SABRIEL POV

I was sitting at the bar chatting  with Mira as I ate. I hadn’t been cooking lately and found myself eating at the guild hall more often than not now.
I was still moping a little when the guild hall doors suddenly flew open.
I turned slightly and watched as Natsu sent a flaming fist towards the person.

“Laxus Fight me!” he yelled. He didn’t get very far as Laxus flicked him to the ground like a fly who gotten in the way.

I turned to face forwards pretending not to notice the small disturbance he’d caused. I kept pushing my food around with the fork when he came up to the bar and sat two chairs down from me.

He didn’t look or even acknowledge my presence as he sat there. He was just so focused on Mira and at that moment I knew whatever it was that we had was now gone and in the coming days he didn’t once acknowledge me and I respected that by giving him the same.

I had  kept going with jobs from the request board starting off small and working my way up to harder jobs with each success. I plucked a new job from the board and took it over to Mira to get approved.
