1HR BEFORE THE FESTIVAL>>>

From what I could see when Erza and I returned home the town was beautiful. The whole place looked as though it had been lit up for the festival.

The sun was fading and I had an hour until I was suppose to meet up with everyone at the gardens. I stood in my dressing gown with my hair and makeup done staring at the dress I had laid out on the bed.

It was my mother’s and I didn’t have the heart to let it go when I moved  so I brought it with me. It was perfect for the occasion a flowy long white gown with straps and dipped low in the front and even lower in the back and came with two gold cuffs to go on each upper arm.

I still stood looking at the dress not making a move to put it on, I felt almost too scared to. I was pulled out of my daze by a knock on the door. My heart skipped a beat and began pounding in my chest until I heard a soft voice call out to me

“Sabe are you there?” they asked
I breathed a sigh of relief and answered them

“Come on in Wendy” I called back and the door opened and closed with a quiet click.

“You look lovely Wendy” I commented looking at her in a sweet pastel pink kimono styled dress. It was a short version with sakura printed on the fabric.

“Thanks. Did you need help getting ready?” she asked I suppose it was now or never I shook my head and quickly changed into the dress before I could think about it too much.

“Wow that dress is amazing” Wendy said slightly awed.

“May I make one quick suggestion”

she added as she grabbed my hand manoeuvring me into a chair. I sat and she made quick work of my hair pining some of it up and adding a dainty little gold head piece that had a blue gem that dangled to sit on my forehead. When I said I'd done my hair earlier I meant I’d put a brush through it but Wendy’s minor addition changed the whole outfit.

“Not bad kid” I said impressed
She beamed at my comment

“Yeah I was going to wear it but I decided it didn’t go with my outfit. But it definitely works with yours” she said

“Definitely. Thank you” I replied. I was finally ready and so we made our way to the festival.

“Hey Wendy why did you stop by?” I asked I had planned to meet everyone there

“I just wanted to see if you’d left already so we could walk together I told Carla to fly ahead and save us a good spot.”

The festival was beautiful lights were strewn up everywhere and there was food and music and dancing.  I kicked off my shoes and walked barefoot around the garden, it was mostly grass anyway so my feet were fine. I slipped on a glass of wine something I didn’t do too often.

“Should you be drinking that” I froze in place as the voice I’d dreaded to hear most resonated in my ears.

I was hoping he would stay away or even not bump into each other until I’d at lease had some time to enjoy myself before I had to try and pretend like I was happy.
I took a deep breath to calm my nerves before answering

“Were the same age idiot” I said maybe a tiny bit too harshly.
I wasn’t exactly the best at this play nice thing I noticed. I downed the glass and stood walking away from him but he easily caught me as always.

He held one hand in his and placed my other at his shoulder while moving his to hold my waist. I tried to pull away from him but as always I was helpless against him.
