Tartaros (Part One)

ERZA POV

It’d been a month since she first showed us her control over Hikaru's power. She just kept pushing and pushing herself harder everyday, her progress was astounding and she was down to her last ring. We told her to rest but it seems she couldn’t relax until she knew she had complete control.

Laxus was due back any day now and we were glad, maybe he could finally get her to take a break. The master had asked him to stay away a while longer so Sabriel could concentrate in her training and surprisingly he listened.

Given the master did say her safety was at risk if she couldn’t learn to control this. Just like a man in love if it was to protect her he would do anything.

On another note there had been some disturbing incidents in the last week. Someone had blown up the magic council killing everyone. It was a state of emergency as the magical community gathered to try and gain some kind of order. We were still going about our normal lives until instructed otherwise.

FFWD>>> 3DAYS LATER

SABRIEL POV

“Laxus should be at Yajime’s tomorrow” Erza informed me.

I felt my heart flutter at the mention of his name. It felt like so long since I’d seen him, but I kept reminding myself it was a necessary sacrifice if we wanted any chance of being together.

“I didn’t know he was back in town” I said and it was true. He hadn’t come to see me.

“He knows you’ve been busy training so he said he’d stop by tomorrow night when he was done, or you could go surprise him. I’m sure Yajime won’t mind, he’d probably be happy to see you too.” Erza replied. It made sense.

FFWD>>> THE NEXT DAY

I left the house walking the familiar way to 8 Island.

“hey guys” I said walking through the door to see none other than the Thunder Legion.

Evergreen turned smiling brightly at me.

“oh hey Sabriel it’s been a while! Laxus isn’t here at the moment Mr Yajime sent him out to pick up a few things hell be back this afternoon.” She said.

I nodded my thanks before having a quick chat to Yajime before leaving. I may as well go home and relax for a bit. I thought.

I ended up falling asleep on my bed. I looked out the window and realised it was late afternoon. I ran out the door heading for 8 Island. When I was about a block out I heard loud noises, screams, crashing and the bright gold sparks of lightening. I ran as fast as I could but was stopped by an unknown force.

From where I stood I could see Laxus defeat some stranger judging from his expression the stranger was an enemy. He had defeated him but not before turning into some weird purple smoke.

I tried to move forward but I was still being held in place. Laxus was  eating the air and taking in the weird smoke. I squinted trying to get a closer look, I knew dragon slayers could absorb magic so I didn’t really pay any mind until I realised he was absorbing anti magic particles.

“LAXUS NO STOP, IT COULD KILL YOU” I screamed at him.

I still couldn't move and I struggled against whatever invisible force held me in place. It wasn’t until Laxus had absorbed all the amps that I could once again move. I ran to him.

“NO NO NO WAKE UP!!!” I screamed pulling his head into my lap.

I brushed the hair out of his face stroking his skin.
