The beginning of forever

LAXUS POV

I woke thinking how stiff and sore my body felt. When I sat up my team was all there waiting to greet me. They were all smiles and tears and I was so happy they were alright I engulfed them all in a hug. Not something I usually did but I was so glad they were all alive and well. I’m still surprised I was even alive. But I had to keep fighting and holding on I had someone special waiting for me.

“Laxus...” a small voice quivered I looked towards the door to find the person who’d been on my mind the most.

The one who constantly pulled me back from the darkness. Something was different about her but I couldn’t pin point what it was. She was even more breathtaking than I remembered though.

Her hair was out and in waves and she was wearing a peach summer dress which accentuated the fact she’d gained a bit of a tan since I’d seen her last.

She was utterly gorgeous. I’d just noticed she was crying as she ran at me and I held my arms open for her. The others all smiled at the two of us before giving us a few moments alone.

She cried into my chest and it hurt my heart hearing the sadness and pain she’d built up. I held her close rocking her back and forth stroking her hair.

“shhhh now Minx I’m here now no need to cry” I cooed trying to sooth her broken heart.

Her sobs quietened and she pulled back to look me in the eyes.

“ I love you” she said and I swear my heart stopped. I looked at her like I didn’t quite understand her.

“I don’t care if you don’t love me back or if it’s too late but I’m not going to let another day go by without telling you because I was too scared. I did that once and I almost lost you.” She said determinedly.

I pulled her back to me moulding our lips together. She was stunned briefly before she returned the kiss. 

“I love you too” I said when we both finally pulled away. A smile broke out on her face so wide it looked like it would split her face in two.

“I have a surprise for you when your ready to get back up” she beamed

“Oh really?” I asked curiously and she just nodded her excitement. I guess everyone else thought we’d had enough time together as they came waltzing back into the room Gramps intow.

“Laxus my boy it’s good to see you up” he said embracing me, I felt his worry for me through that one hug and I returned it. He looked between Sabriel and I a smile on his face.

“There’s a car outside waiting to take you home.” He said.

We got in the car and I was thankful I was looking forward to the walk home. Sabriel sat next to me and hands in mine and I looked out the window. We drove past her apartment I guess we were going to mine. But my house came up and we kept going and it suddenly dawned on me.

“You found out” I whispered a little disappointed that I wouldn’t get to present it to her myself.

She nodded squeezing my hand slightly. I shrugged the feeling off though It was just good having her by my side again. When we reached the house I noticed slight changes from the outside, she'd fixed some of the peeling paint and there were more flowers planted.

We stepped inside and it was a different feel than last time  she'd managed to make it feel like a home, our home.

“Are you ready?” she asked and I could tell she was quite nervous.

“Are you alright?” I said and she nodded taking a deep breath before leading me up the stairs. She pulled me into the middle of the room and at first I didn't notice any major differences until I finally realised what I was looking at. I feel to my knees speechless.

“Is this for real?” I asked hoping it wasn't just a dream and she nodded.

SABRIEL POV

He looked up at me and tears were falling freely from his eyes. He kneeled in front of me placing a kiss on my stomach and I felt my heart flutter in happiness at his acceptance.

“We’re having a baby” he asked as if he still couldn’t believe it I just nodded in response.

“How far along?” he asked

“Going on three months” I replied.

“I'm going to be a dad” I heard him say to himself

I started fidgeting with my hands “so... Your happy” I said just to be sure.

He looked at me like he couldn’t believe I’d just said that and stood. He cupped my face in his hand.

“Of course I’m happy, you thought I wouldn't be,?” he asked seriously.

“we never really got to talk about things after we left here last time. I didn't even know if you wanted kids.”

I said honestly looking away. He tipped my chin back so I was looking at him again.

“With you I do. I want it all.” At that moment he dropped his hands from my face and walked over to a draw. When he walked back to me he suddenly dropped to one knee and I felt my eyes almost pop out of my head.

“Sabriel Cornerstone will you do me the honour of becoming my wife. Will you live with me in our house and raise our child and let me love you both for the rest of my days?”

He asked and I could'nt speak at that moment. I could only nod my response as I jumped into his arms crying my happiness.

"So I take it that's a yes Mrs Dreyar?" He asked pressing a kiss again my neck.

"Not Mrs Dreyar yet.... but soon" I agreed giggling.

"Soon." He agreed
