I fell asleep sometime after that only to be awoken by the sounds of howling. I sit straight up, one of the howls is almost scary. It has a certain tone about it that sends chills up my spine and makes me want to run. Not for fun but for survival.

I take a deep breath and I lie back down on my bed made of leaves. I curl up and close my eyes but I can't fall asleep. For the first time in a long time, I'm actually scared. I sit up and I groan.

I miss sleeping in my bed in my own room. I miss my chihuahua Twinkie and my cat Garfield. Man, why did I have to become a wolf! I had so much going for me and now I have a treehouse. Why couldn't they be accepting? Not like I'm any different. I mean except for the fact I can change into a wolf whenever I want. I mean it's not like I'm gonna shift in front of their friends while they're having a dinner party.

I unlock the hatch door and I climb out closing it behind me. I climb down the ladder and I walk towards the river. The river is quite beautiful at night. I take a seat on the edge and I throw a rock in. I snap my head up when I hear a twig snap.

A pure white wolf with baby blue eyes is on the opposite side river, he seems to be pacing. He doesn't see me and he doesn't smell me.

That's my favorite part of this river, it's so loud and fast that you can't tell there's someone on the other side. I'm glad my wolf is pitch black and not white like his or hers.

I stand up and the wolf snaps its head towards me. It growls showing its teeth before taking off in a bolt back into the forest. Good job Sky, someones seen you as a human. I take off in a bolt towards my treehouse, they're probably going to go tell the Alpha about me like the good little dog they are.

I'm about to climb my treehouse when the smell of mutt enters my nose. They are nearby. I drop from the ladder and I start running. If they are in wolf form there is no way I'm getting away in human form.

I step behind a tree and I pull my clothes off before shifting. I'm still not used to the sound of my bones cracking.

I sniff looking around. My nose is telling me that they're close but I don't see them. I spin in a circle slowly, waiting for them to come into view.

I growl when I see him. A light brown wolf, a dark brown wolf, and a deep red wolf come into view. They are all crocheted in an attack position. They are all twice my size. I have no chance of fighting them so I begin running. It's the only thing I'm good at. I don't stop running until I'm at the river. I look back once before jumping over the river. Two of the wolves lie down but the light brown wolf paces, waiting for me to jump back over.
