I'm glad I don't bruise. I mean I would rather bruise than scar but I guess it's alright. If I did bruise my face at this moment would have been blue. Chris has been beating me to a pulp any chance he gets. Since I can't leave his sight more than a few minutes that's basically all the time.

He says he doesn't like hitting me but every time he does I see a smile form on his mouth. What a sick man.

After watching tv all day it was finally time to go to sleep. After changing Lily into her pajama's I make my way to Chris's room. He is already fast asleep so I back out of the room not even caring if I'm loud. He's a wolf he'll hear me if I'm quiet or not.

I open the front door and I step out of the house. I look behind me and I raise my eyebrow. I didn't think that would work. I take another step and I look behind me.

I decide not to go far so Chris doesn't react badly if he wakes up and notices I'm gone. I take a seat on a log near the van and I sigh. I don't want this to be my life.

My parents are dead, I'm stuck with a wolf who loves hitting me, my adopted little sister has no clue what's going on, and I have nowhere to run to. Screw Kale and screw Chris.

Maybe I should throw Lily on my back and just run but to where? I don't even know where I am. I doubt I'm in my old forest, I doubt I'm even in the same state. I would think I'm in a whole different country but we were only in the car for about three hours.

Chris grabs my shoulders making me jump.

"You do realize you've been out here all night right?"

I look around, it's already light out. Wait but there's no way the suns come up already. Was I really out here all night?

He helps me up and escorts me back inside. I yawn looking around. Lily is sitting on the couch eating pancakes and watching some show where cops are dogs. Chris holds my waist as he walks me into the room. He lightly pushes me on the bed and pulls the blanket over me. I close my eyes and Chris kisses my forehead.

"Goodnight Skyler." He says walking out of the room.

I fight the urge to fall asleep but the darkness soon overtakes me. I don't think Chris will hurt Lily, he doesn't show her really any interest other than making her food.
