Chapter Eighteen

I wake up feeling amazing. I haven't slept this well in so long, it feels great. I sit up and I stretch before crawling out of bed. Everything comes flooding back to me when Chris begins talking to me.

'Come home Emmaaa.'

'Your obsessed and my names not Emma. I lied to you.' I say walking to the bathroom.

'Wait what? Whats your name?!'

I laugh before before blocking him out and using the bathroom. I step out of the bathroom and I look around. Kale must be out doing Alpha things. I laugh, finally.

I walk over and open the window up before crawling out and sitting on the ledge. Its dark out, I slept all day. I swing my legs back and forth taking a deep breaths. Its fascinating to think I could die at any moment. If I just jumped or if I was pushed, I would be dead.

I look down at the ground and I sigh, life is so fascinating. I turn my head when I hear the door open. The guy with the moon under his eye walks in.

"I don't get why Kale likes you." He says leaning up against the wall.

I shrug, "I don't get why anyone likes me."

He half laughs, "Aren't thinking of jumping are you?"

"I'm thinking of jumping but I'm not gonna jump." I say swinging my legs around before stepping back into the room, "Where's Kale?"

He leans off the wall, "Meeting with pack leaders in the area."

I raise my eyebrow, "Why?"

He shrugs, "Don't know. He won't even tell me and I'm his beta!"

'Why so quite?' I ask sitting on the bed.

"Beta?" I grin.

"Forgot you were a mutt. Beta is like being second in command."

"Nice, second in command." I stand up and I make my way to the door.

The beta runs over, "Wait where are you going?"

I shrug, "I haven't figured that out yet.

He opens the door, "Cool, we'll go together."

"Sounds like a plan." I say as I walk out of the room on down the hall.

I stop dead in my tracks when I see that Kale is shaking hands with Chris. 

"Yeah I'll keep my eyes out for anyone suspicious." Chris says turning around. 

Kale turns around and smiles at me, "Oh morning Skyler."

Chris smiles, "Oh and who is this lovely lady?

'Say anything about who I am and I'll snap Kale's neck before I snap yours.'

I was completely taken by fear. I should tell Kale about Chris but I couldn't. I just couldn't risk Kale's life like that.

"I'm Skyler and you are?" I say holding my hand out even though it was shaking slightly.

He smiles and shakes it lightly, "I'm Andrew, it's a pleasure to meet you.

"Pleasures all mine," I say retracting my hand. Anytime I touch him or I'm even near him my heart races and my mind wants to explode.

Chris turns to Kale, "Well I must be going. Good luck on your search."

I watch as Chris walks down the stairs and out of the front door. You stupid girl! Say something!

I bite my lip and I look down. I want to say something but my mouth won't open. 

'Good girl.' Chris laughs, 'I'll be seeing you real soon."
