The Meeting pt 2

Wyatt and his 3 friends were the typical, average group of teenage boys. Loud and jaunty, laughing and making lame jokes.

They all approach the coffee counter at the same time, but I could tell only two of the boys were actually ordering, neither of them Wyatt.

I tried to limit the amount of time I looked up from my book to glance at the boys, but it was really hard. Wyatt was too engrossed in a conversation with one of the other guys to have begun searching for me yet.

So I just tried to pretend to be reading my book casually and not look incredibly suspicious. Finally, I glanced over at him and saw Wyatt looking around the cafe. Subtly, but I could tell he was looking for someone.

The urge inside of me to run up to him and just blurt out the whole truth while bawling my eyes out was growing, and honestly, I feel like I would have if only his friends weren't with him.

WHY DID HE FUCKING BRING HIS FRIENDS GOD DAMNIT.

I saw, out of the corner of my eye while I was pretending to read, one of Wyatt's friends who had ordered a drink come over to him and nudge his arm, leaning in to say something to him.

Wyatt shrugged at him in response to whatever he had said, and looked around the half empty cafe, and even from the distance I was sitting from him, I could see sadness and worry in his eyes.

'He probably thinks I've ditched him.' I thought to myself miserably.

And then suddenly, a lightbulb appeared over my head.

Because I had a plan.

But I needed to get to the bathroom first.

Because I couldn't risk Wyatt looking over and noticing me on my iPod.

There was one problem.

How was I going to get to the bathroom without Wyatt or one of his friends noticing?

I stayed where I was for around 5 minutes, panicking while trying to think, because time was not a dispensable object in this situation.

Finally, I saw my out.

A huge group of middle aged women came through the front door of the cafe, all of them heading towards where I was.

They chose a table right next to the chair I was sitting on, and as around 5 of the girls went to the bathroom, I saw my opportunity.

I glanced at Wyatt briefly, just to check if he was looking near where I was, then got up and hid myself behind this group of women, making it so I was completely  blocked from Wyatt and his friends views.

Luckily, none of them noticed me, and I was able to make it into the handicapped stall without any issues.

I pulled out my iPod and saw that Wyatt had only texted me once since arriving at the cafe, his message saying, "I'm here. Let me know when you get here."

I sighed.

And began to type.

"Tell your friends to leave. And then we can talk."

He saw my message after around 2 minutes.

I could just imagine him looking around the cafe once more, looking around him to make sure his friends couldn't read  the message he had just gotten.

He started typing.

"Where are you?"

Alecia: "Not important. Tell your friends to leave."

He again, saw the message instantly, but didn't respond in that same manner.

Five minutes passed before I saw him start to type again.

"Okay, they are gone. Come talk to me now."

My heart started racing because there was no way I could do this. What the fuck was I thinking? I had basically trapped myself, because there was no way of knowing whether or not his friends were ACTUALLY gone, and if I left the bathroom to check, Wyatt would instantly see me exit the bathroom and know I was the one behind Alecia.

The girls who I had snuck in behind were long gone, probably back sitting at their table, sipping their lattes while gossiping about irrelevant, petty topics.

So I was screwed.

'Be a big girl, Quinn,' I told myself. 'You made your bed, now you gotta lye in it.'

I took several deep breaths and exited the stall.

Taking one last glance in the mirror to make sure I was looking as non repulsive as humanly possible,

I finally

FINALLY

pushed open the bathroom door, and stepped back out into the cafe.
