Fat Chance

Human to Human

Next was Danny.

I decided to go to school that day, even though I had more then enough reason not to, just so I could ride the bus and talk to Danny.

2 hours after the police came to take my parents into custody, I was dressed and walking down to the bus stop.

I waited with the others until the bus came, climbing on last when it did, glaring at the bus driver as I did. I wouldn't have to be so filled with venom towards Danny if the bus driver just did their damn job.

Instead of sitting down in one of the first few seats like usual, I kept walking to the back of the bus, all the way to where Danny and his friends were sitting.

His face was turned towards one of his friends when I approached, but as soon as he saw me, his mouth broke out into an evil smile.

"Quinny," he said. "Nice to see you again."

I smiled grimly. "Hello, Daniel. I need to talk to you."

Danny's smile shifted from a cocky one to a nervous one. He played it off pretty well though, I'm almost positive I was the only one who noticed. 

"Alright, Quinny, make it quick."

I rolled my eyes. "Alone, you doorknob. I want to talk alone."

This time, nothing could hide his nervousness, and more than just me noticed. 

"OOOOO" cooed Danny's friends. 

"YOU'RE IN TROUBLEEEEE."

"SHE'S GONNA BEAT YOUR ASS."

"OR JUST SIT ON YOU UNTIL YOU DIE."

Danny turned around to face his friends. "Guys, knock it off."

He turned back around and forced a smile back on his face. "Fine. When and Where?"

"Today," I said. "Meet me at the Public Library at 4:30 sharp."

I started to walk away when I suddenly turned back around. 

"Oh, and Danny?"

He looked up at me, looking pretty damn queasy.

"Don't bring your pathetic entourage. We need to settle this Human to Human."
