Another beautiful morning in Vanivile town, as our boy, Ash Ketchum, woke up and shouted the most popular line most of the students usually do
"Arceus, damn it! I'm late!" Ash hurriedly got changed, grabbed a piece of toast and ran to the door.
"Hey Ash!" Serena shouted from behind
"Oh hey Serena! You're late, too?"
"Ash, you baka. I've waited for you for a long time" Serena said made Ash nervously laughed. Just imagine you make your friend late for school, now think that your friend is a "gangster", you'll see what Ash feel

"Author-kun, stop describing. Ash, get in the car, now!" Ash quickly jumped in the car. When it was being driven, Ash realized it was Alain's car
"Sup!" Alain greeted Ash. Ash shivered a bit, while Serena was giggling next to him.
The car stopped in front of Vanivile High's entrance. Serena grabbed Ash's hand and dragged him across the field. All the students just about to laugh until they noticed it was Serena. They knew if they mess with her or even her friend, the future won't be bright. They just stood there, wondering how could a badass girl like Serena being friend with a loser like Ash.

It was the lunch break. This time, Serena decided to sit with Ash, but her hair was a bit messy
"I told you to hand the glass tube, not toss it, you twat. That caused an explosion!" Serena still angry about what happened in the Chemistry class
"I'm sorry, Serena. Please don't kill me" Ash begged, then Serena leaned in and give him a kiss to the cheek. Yes, again, the cheek, always the cheek
"Din't worry, Ash. Your hair also curled up after the incident" Serena pointed at Ash's hair, both of them were laughing. But little did they know, Calem was watching the whole time, and he was totally sick of it.

Time pasted away as the school ended. Ash and Serena, as usual, were walking home, since Alain was too lazy, and May don't want to carry her brother's to home all time
"You know, Ash. School was much better when I had you" Serena smiled
"Yeah, and those bullies didn't mess with me, when I had my "bodyguard" right by my side" Ash wrapped his arm around Serena's shoulder, made her blushed slightly
"Oh shut up, Ketchum. Well, see you tomorrow" Serena waved goodbye Ash then ran to her home. Ash called Serena a bodyguard, and he also said that no one can mess with him. But little did Ash know, he was about to be dead

Ash was running to his home, when a figure jumped out the bushes and pinned Ash. Ash then slowly opened his eyes and realized it was Calem
"Calem, w-what do you think you're doing?" Ash asked in pain
"Well, let's just say I'm sick enough for all of your manners" Calem then pushed Ash to wall
"W-what do you mean?" Ash managed to stand up, only to get swing to another wall by Calem
"Well, you stole my girl, Serena. So for even, I'm gonna steal something from you, too. YOUR LIVE!" Calem then punched Ash rapidly, made Ash just laid there and took the pain. Then, Calem kicked Ash hard in the side of his thighs. Ash just laying unconsciously, before Calem finished Ash
"BIG BRO! Is that you?" A shout from May surprised Calem. Calem decided to leave Ash there. But before that, he left him a message, a cryptic message
"Don't you ever try to hang out with my Serena, or you'll be sorry" Calem quickly escaped
"BIG BRO, WHAT HAPPENED?!" May asked in a worried tone, she then dragged Ash inside and took care of his bruises from Calem's beat down. May didn't know who was it.

The telephone rang and May picked it up. It was Serena
"Hey May, can I speak to Ash?"
"Yeah, about Ash...."
"Huh, what's wrong?" Serena worriedly asked
"Well, he got beat up, and he's unconscious"
"I have to go there, wait for me!"
"No Serena, it's late. You should stay home, it's dangerous out there. I'll make sure to help my brother going to school tomorrow"
"Alright, bye May" May ended the phone call, realizing Ash is recovering
"Big bro! You're okay?" May asked, but Ash didn't reply
"What happened? Maybe I can-" May got cut off by Ash
"May, I just, I'm going to my room now" Ash stood up and walked upstairs

In his room, Ash was thinking about Calem's cryptic message. He's now almost back to his own self: weak, shy, but this time he had another one, depressed. He knew if he stayed near Serena, his sister could be in danger. Or even furthermore, Calem will try to eliminate the Ketchums out of the world, and something may happen to Serena, too. He stuffed his face in a pillow, and began to think.

The next day wasn't a beautiful day for Ash. Ash woke up earlier than usual. He did his morning routine and quietly left the house, while May was eating her breakfast. May soon worried about Ash. She thought that the beat up last night affected Ash's mental. Ash got to school, and he met a girl he was trying to hide from, Serena
"Hey Ash, what happened to you, did it hurt?" Serena said as she was checking Ash's body for any bruises, but Ash pulled her head away
"Hey, what's wrong? I was just checking" Serena shouted at Ash, but he just walking away, depressingly
"You know, maybe he just found another girl and ditched you" Calem smirked behind
"SHUT UP CALEM! ASH IS WAY MORE BETTER THAN YOU, AND HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT!" Serena shouted back and bursted in tears, as she was running away

That lunch time, Ash decided to sit on his own. He stared down the ground , thinking lots of stuff. Ash didn't pay any attention to the class, and this made Serena worried.
"Hey Ash, can I talk to you for a minute" Serena sat next to Ash "I think that beat up you got yesterday must be painful to your mental, so I'm here to share it, as a friend" Serena held Ash's hand to comfort him, but all she got was a pull from Ash's other hand, and he walked away. Serena chased him down and put her hands on his shoulder
"Ash, just tell me, what's wrong with you? Don't worry buddy, I'm here-" "SHUT UP!" A sudden shout from Ash made her stunted and shedded a tear
"Oh, you want to know the answer?! Well, this is for you! I'm tired of this life! I'm tired of being bullied over and over again! Everytime people told me they would stand by my side, would protect me... and what did I get?! NOTHING! I'm sick of all the liars in this world, including you, Serena! You may say you will stand by my side, but who know?! WHO FCUKING KNOW?! Someday, you will leave me for someone more precious than me, left me alone in the shadow! You know what, you just a dirty liar, like every human in this world, you got that?!"
All of the word spitted from Ash's mouth broke Serena's heart.
"Ash, it's not true. I always see you as a friend. My best friend! You are the light of me, to guide me through the darkness of this world. Ash, I think this is the time I say it to you. I lo-"
"Oh just shut up you dirty scumbags, stay away from me, just let me live like I usually do" Ash then pushed Serena and ran away, leaving her knelt down and crying. "Ash, you baka. Why won't you understand, after all we've been through" Serena thought in tears. Then she noticed Calem was smirking, so she walked up to him and pinned him to the wall
"What did you do to him, dirtbomb?" Serena asked Calem in tears
"Well, I just teach him a little lesson about not stepping in anyone's bussiness" Calem smirked, but received a slap from Serena
"You know what?! Good job! Now I'd never get my Ash back! I wanted him! I wanted him to be the Ash I know, optimistic, generous and heart-warming, not this one. Calem, I hate you! Get the f out of my life" Serena then puched Calem and knocked him out, before she ran along the alleyway and crying. She had a special feeling on Ash, but when the "real Ash" was gone, this left her a pain in her heart. She knew she had to do something to get Ash back. Unless...
