A few weeks passed by, and Destiny was falling into a deep depression. No one could get through to her, not even Stevie.
Her mother's words rang in her head, "Don't give up." But the feeling of being broken was overwhelming. Because of her, she wasn't able to carry a child on her own for her husband.
She began to push him away because she felt he deserved so much more.Mathew was at his wits end; he tried to make Destiny see that he loved her no matter what.
Whether they used a surrogate to have their child or adoption; he didn't care about that as long as they would go through which ever option together."Babe...please, let's go out to dinner. Let's just get out of the house! It's been weeks since you left this bed. Please." Mathew urged.
Destiny just turned away from him and rolled over bringing her blanket over her head. "No." Came her muffled voice from underneath the blanket.Mathew tried to pull the blanket off of her but she held on tight. Finally he gave up and said. "Fine! You want to stay in bed, suit yourself. I'm going out for dinner and a few drinks!"
Destiny didn't say anything, she just stayed under the blanket.
Mathew sighed then said. "Don't wait up."Mathew used his cell phone and called himself a cab knowing he was going to get drunk tonight. He wanted to forget about the stress he and Destiny were going through of trying to have a child.
A few minutes later, Destiny heard the door slam. She jumped a little not prepared for the force of the slam.
Destiny began to sob uncontrollably; just like Mathew, she wanted to forget her current situation. But instead of drinking, she turned to music. She grabbed her iPod and put her headphones on and pressed shuffle.
She soon drifted off to sleep, thinking about what her next steps were going to be. Either try surrogacy one more time or adoption.
Or, maybe, she should just give up completely.Destiny woke up at 10 pm; Mathew still wasn't home. She sighed then grabbed her phone.
She had several missed called from her mother but she just didn't want to talk to anyone. She then grabbed her laptop and opened it up to search for more information about finding another surrogate.
She skimmed through a few articles before her eyes fell onto a very interesting article.
She opened the page and began to read; at first she was shocked that this could happen. Her eyebrows shot straight up but then her mind began to race. She clicked on the video that was attached to the article and watched the video in awe.
When it was over, it was all Destiny could think about. This article felt like this was the answer to her prayers; but then she came to reality.
In the article, it spoke of a young woman who was struggling to have a child of her own. She was in a similar situation as Destiny; the reason why they couldn't carry their own child was different but just like Destiny, this young woman tried different surrogates before an unlikely person stepped forward to help the young woman have a child of her own.
The mother of the young woman offered to be her own daughter's surrogate. She was 60 years old when she offered and after much discussion, her daughter agreed.
A few months later after getting evaluated and being on certain medications to prepare the uterus, the woman's mother was implanted with her daughter's embryo.
