Once they arrived at the birthing center, Stevie was given a room which set up when Destiny had called Dr. Bartlett earlier that day.
Stevie changed into a nightgown and pulled her hair into a pony tail then laid on the bed so Dr. Bartlett could check on Stevie's progress; Stevie was at five centimeters. Dr. Bartlett checked the baby's heartbeat and checked the baby's position. So far, the baby and Stevie were doing great. However, Stevie's water hadn't broken yet and Dr. Bartlett said that if her water didn't break on its own that she would have to help break it.
Once Dr. Bartlett left Stevie's room, Destiny began to make the atmosphere more relaxed; Stevie had requested for some candles to be lit around the room and for some music to be played in the background.
As time passed, Stevie felt the need to walk around. Destiny and Lindsey walked with her around the hallways of the birthing center. Stevie stopped a few times as a contraction rolled around and she leaned on Lindsey until they passed. Sometimes Stevie would rest her forehead on Lindsey's chest as she moved her hips from side to side to try to relieve the pain.
After twenty minutes of walking around, Stevie said she wanted to go back to her room. Along the way back, Stevie gasped and looked down. Destiny and Lindsey's eyes followed and saw a puddle of water underneath her.
Soon they were back in Stevie's room and things began to speed up now that Stevie's water had broken. She changed into a new nightgown and she tried to lay down for a bit so she could get as much rest as she could.
Around 10 am, Barbara, Jess and Karen made it to the birthing center with Aiden and Robin following behind. They found Stevie's room and Karen stayed behind with Robin in a waiting room that had toys in the corner for children to play with. Robin however wanted to see Stevie. Barbara told Robin that they would go check on Stevie first then Aiden would come and get her so she could see her mommy.
Barbara, Jess and Aiden walked into the room after Lindsey answered the door. Barbara and Jess and Aiden hugged Stevie and took a seat around her. Stevie was on a birthing ball since she didn't feel like laying down and she felt uncomfortable sitting on a chair. The ball helped a little and Stevie was grateful for that.
She didn't want show anyone, especially Destiny how much pain she was in.After some time, Aiden walked out to go get Karen and Robin. Robin held her older brother's hand as they walked into the room. Robin walked up to Stevie hesitantly.
Stevie smiled and opened her arms to hug Robin; Robin smiled back and stepped forward to hug her. "Hi mommy." Robin said.
"Hi baby. Did you have a nice morning with grandma and grandpa?" Stevie asked.
"Yeah...but I missed you." Robin said.
"I missed you too." Stevie said then placed a kiss on Robin's cheek.Just then Stevie was hit with another contraction; she shut her eyes and breathed in and out. Robin noticed and took a step back and broke the hug.
"What's wrong mommy?" Robin asked worriedly.
Destiny stepped up to Robin and said. "Mommy is having the baby. The baby is almost here sissy."
"Really?!" Robin said excitedly. "Yay!"Hours later, Karen took Robin home along with Barbara and Jess but they were only going to rest for a bit then come back to the birthing center. Aiden decided to stay with his parents; he had brought his backpack full of his things to keep him preoccupied.
When Jess and Barbara returned a couple of hours later, they found Aiden alone in the room. He was sitting on the sofa that was in the room, playing with his gameboy color. He looked up and paused his game.
"Hey grandpa and grandma." He said as he stood up to greet his grandparents.
"Hey Aiden. Where's everyone?" Barbara asked as she hugged him.
"Well, mom's contractions are five minutes apart now and she's...she's getting tired. Dr. Bartlett suggested she try to relax in the tub." Aiden said.
