After taking care of Mathew, Destiny got ready for the day then she rushed back to her laptop to print out the articles she had read last night so she could show her mother.
She then told Mathew where she would be, he told her that he would be over later.
Destiny got into her car and drove over to her parents house. She knew her mother wouldn't be awake but she needed to talk to Stevie right away.
Destiny drove into the driveway and walked up to the front door. She used her key to let herself in.
She walked up stairs and stopped in front of her parents bedroom. She knocked then waited for a response. Destiny knocked again but still no answer. She took a breath then opened the door and went inside the room.
She saw her mother still asleep but her father wasn't in bed. She then heard the water running in the bathroom.
Destiny hated to wake her mother because she knew how grouchy she could be in the morning.
She walked over to her sleeping mother then sat down beside her. "Mom?" She said gently shaking Stevie's shoulder.Stevie grumbled something then pulled her blanket over her head. Destiny chuckled a little, reminding her of herself hours before.
She tried again, shaking Stevie's shoulder. "Mom?"Stevie felt like she was in a tunnel; she heard Destiny's voice. Her mind began to wake and finally her eyes shot open. "Destiny!" Stevie said groggily. "Oh sweetie, I have been worried sick about you "
Stevie was still sleepy but the worry for her daughter woke her up; she sat up and brought her daughter close to her and hugged her tight.
Destiny hugged Stevie back and smiled. She missed her mother dearly.Stevie pulled away and looked into her daughter's eyes with a serious look on her face. "You are so lucky I've been worried about you or else I would be cursing you out for waking me up so early!" She said, half serious, but mostly joking.
Destiny chuckled. "Sorry mom. It's just...I wanted to let you know I was okay. I'm sorry that I didn't answer your calls. I wasn't in a great place." She said. "But, I'm okay now."
"I'm so glad you're okay." Stevie said then hugged her daughter one more time. They pulled away and Destiny bit her lip; she was so nervous to have this conversation with her mother.
Her goes nothing! Destiny thought to herself."Mom, I want to talk to you about something very important. Want to join me downstairs for some coffee?" Destiny asked.
Stevie wanted to go back to sleep but she really did miss her daughter and wanted to spend time with her. She nodded her head as she said. "Okay, let's go!"
Stevie stood up from the bed and grabbed her robe. She pulled it on and wrapped it around herself then tied it to keep it from opening.
Destiny and Stevie quietly walked downstairs not wanting to wake Aiden and Robin.
Once in the kitchen, Destiny walked over to the coffee maker and turned it on when she put her mother's favorite coffee inside it.Destiny sat down on the kitchen table across from her mother who had put her head down and was drifting off to sleep.
"Um...mom?" Destiny said laughing.
"Oh be quiet! You know this isn't my usual wake up time!" Stevie said in an irritated voice.
Destiny shook her head smiling. "I'll wait to talk after we have a cup of coffee."
"Good idea." Stevie said sleepily. It was quiet for a moment, Stevie had dozed off. When the coffee was ready, Destiny poured herself and Stevie each a cup and made it to Stevie's liking. The same with her coffee.
"Here's your cup of coffee mom." Destiny said waking Stevie then placed down her cup of coffee on the table.
Stevie yawned and took her cup in her hand then took a sip. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Destiny said.
