The wind rattled the window as rain pelted it's side, turning the sky a plain grey colour. Hushed whispers were what brought me out of sleep this time. Hushed whispers, and the sweet smell of my mate's scent.

I could hear him breathing beside me, but I didn't make a move to talk to him, not after what he'd done to me. I wasn't part of his pack, yet he'd treated me like I was some misbehaving wolf that had to be put in their place.

"I know you're awake."

I bristled as his voice filled the air, the sour smell of my anger saturating the room.

"You have no right to be angry at me," He said, "You were the one who brought this upon yourself."

I growled, sitting up immediately and facing him. The dull pain of previous silver restricted my movements, but I ignored it and proceeded. "Myself, your Gamma poisoned my companions and I with wolfsbane and brought us here, we were doing nothing wrong." I hissed.

His nose flared angrily, his brown eyes bordering on black. "You were on pack land, my pack land, and your so-called companions were hunting my game." He roared.

"We were hungry, what did you expect us to do?" I snarled, my canines extending as my anger bubbled up. The process was slightly delayed, the silver even restricting something as small as my canines.

He chuckled darkly, standing from his seat and facing the window. "You could've died for all I cared."

My wolves ears pricked up with anger, her fur bristling as I fought the urge to lunge at him. I curled my lips back instead, snarling and threatening him.

"Don't embarrass yourself." He stated,  his fists curled by his sides.

My wolf primed; crouching her body and preparing to lunge at him, yet she held herself back as long as she could.

"Where are the rest of my pack? I want to see them." I said, getting up from the bed.

He scoffed by the window, his malevolence showing as he answered. "Your pack is no pack, and you are no Alpha."

Angered beyond repair, my wolf lunged, shifting mid-spring and taking the Alpha by surprise. She started on the attack, pinning him down with her paws and trying to get to his neck - but he was too strong.

The nights in his prison left me weak and unstable, my bones aching like I was in heat and only he could satisfy me.

In one swift move the Alpha had flipped us over and twisted his arms around our neck, squeezing his large arms and restricting out breathing. My wolf fought hard, snarling and growling and clawing at him, but he kept a firm hold and his wolf gave some input when needed.

"I will not have this insolence and blatant disrespect in my pack, you will learn your place like every other." He roared, jabbing his elbow harder.

I whimpered as it struck me, not going for his neck and instead trying to pry him off me. It struck me how strong he was, how in control he seemed to be. If my wolf wasn't fighting for her life right now she'd surely be impressed.

The Alpha released his grip on me and stood up, brushing my fur and blood off his shirt. I gave a feeble growl, my throat burning with how he wrapped his arms around it.

"Clean yourself up and join me downstairs." He grunted, exiting the room.

I shifted back, picking myself up and trudging to the bathroom. It was clean and tidy, like the bedroom, but it had the overwhelming scent of the Alpha and that alone made my wolf angry.

I used his shampoo, his soap and his towel, the smell engulfing me like a hug. This was deliberately done, I knew it, he made sure I smelt like him to show that I was his mate - although I don't doubt that others smell like him too. His walk in wardrobe was neat, as expected, and I chose from it a selection of women's clothes that smelt new.

It struck me as odd that he had women's clothes, I couldn't doubt that the idea of my mate having others had crossed my mind, but I'd never taken it to heart until now.

Cautiously, I wandered through the empty halls of the top floor until I got to the stairs, holding the bannister so I didn't topple over and humiliate myself.

My eyes flickered around the kitchen, landing on a few women and skipping over the Alpha. He was to come to me if he wanted to talk, not the other way round.

The women, when they saw me, bristled and snarled, smelling his scent on me. I grimaced, now that I was here some of them may want to challenge me for the position of Alpha Female.

A low growl escaped my lips, warning the females to back off and leave me in peace. A few of their men trickled into the kitchen, their bodies on full display from the workout they'd just been doing.

The Alpha stood up as all of them looked at me, his hands travelling down to my back to lead me to the table. I almost jumped out of my skin as his hand touched me, the feeling of his warm hands was foreign to me.

"I smell the anxiousness on you, try to keep it down." He whispered into my ear.

My wolf's ears flattened against her head, defensive, and crouched low to the ground. All the stares were making her agitated, but not anxious, she didn't get anxious.

"You will address me as Orion while you speak in front of my regarded pack members, but otherwise address me as Alpha." He whispered, pinching the back of my neck.

I held back a hiss of pain as he removed his fingers, brushing past me and sitting down at the head of the table, as an Alpha should.

Pinching my neck was a show of dominance, he was showing me he could inflict more pain if he wished, but chose to ease out on it for now.

For now.

I sauntered over to the table, taking my place on his right side and sitting down. The Alpha glanced at me, silently telling me to behave, and stood up, silencing all the chatter.

"As many of you may already have guessed, this female next to me is my mate." He said, no emotion coming through his voice. The men and their females didn't show anything either, their expressions slightly hostile as they eagerly listened to their Alpha's speech.

My wolf showed slight discouragement because of this, her movements now tense in front of the people.

"Treat her with reverence and respect, show her what it means to be a Silverblood wolf." He finished, causing an uproar.

My wolf still sat tense and rigid in my mind, her actions conveyed out of me as I stayed obedient throughout the whole lunch.
