The light didn't disappear as I thought it would, instead it dimmed, then expanded, and a whole host of other things joined it. The air around me was thick with grief and sorrow, anger and hatred, and sadness and regret.
I could feel a thick tension in the air, the hatred from one to another so strong it clawed at my lungs, forcing me to peel my eyes open and take in my surroundings.
Anya was the first person I saw, she was sitting on a chair in front of my bed, with her back tense and low growls escaping her mouth.
My eyes slowly traveled to who she was growling at, and my heart almost skipped a beat.
Orion.
With his hair wild and rugged, and his usual expressionless face that showed no emotion. Except this time there was emotion, behind his tired, brown eyes held regret and remorse.
Anya threw another growl at him, muttering something incoherent under her breath, and that's when Orion snapped.
"I get it, okay? I messed up, you can stop growling. I'm still your Alpha." He snarled.
Anya scoffed, her teeth bared as she spat words back at him. "You didn't just mess up, you destroyed any chance you ever had with Alastrine. You don't come back from that, ever, you almost killed her."
Orion growled at her, kicking his chair into the wall and gripping his hair. I could see he was in conflict, but no part of me felt sorry for him, nor though did I wish this fate upon him.
Look at you, why do you forgive him, even when he hurt us?
My wolf shot angry questions at me, her her anger pouring out of me in waves, so much so that Anya shot up and dashed over to me.
"I can smell your wolf's anger." She said, engulfing me in a hug.
I wrapped my own, bandage clad arms around her, avoiding Orion's heated stare on me.
"Tell him to leave." I said, obliging to my wolf's request.
Anya pulled away and nodded, sending a glance at Orion, who was already up and walking out of the room. He slammed the door with an almighty bang, the sound of clothes ripping following, and the unmistakable pounding of paws on the linoleum floor.
"You fought like a beast." Anya said, ripping my attention away from the door.
I shook my head, licking my chapped lips as she applied dressing to the wounds on my bare shoulder.
"I fought like a pup, I barely fought at all." I admitted, wincing as she rubbed alcohol on the wounds.
She smiled. "The pack respects you now, the females, over the course of the week, have all howled to the Moon for you, if you were awake you would've heard them."
I couldn't stop the grin that appeared on my face, tears gathering at my eyes she told me the good news.
"They went on a hunt too, the previous Alpha Female led it, they would've caught it if...if...never mind."
I sat up, attentive. "If what?"
Shuffling, Anya pressed the alcohol back on my wound, attempting to distract me.
I swatted her hand away, sitting up higher. "Anya, tell me."
She blew out a shaky breath, sitting back a little and pulling her lips into a thin line.
"Alastrine, every night Orion howled to the Moon in sorrow."

So sorry for the late update, I wasn't able to post because I was at this camp thing and there was no wifi.
Anyway, as a sorry present, I'm doing a double update. The update will either be later today or early tomorrow, as I still need to go over it.
