Anya took my invitation to dinner way too seriously.

The evening was filled with a bustling atmosphere, with Anya and her wolf obsessing over what I was going to wear and what make up I was to put on, whilst I stayed in the middle of it all, happily indulging myself in a movie she'd put on.

I'd always wondered though - in the movies - why the female would always put so much effort into her outfit to attract the male. They weren't mates, the Moon hadn't bonded them together and the male could, and would, be attracted by others.

But Anya contradicted me perfectly, bringing up that she was an 'expert', due to the fact she'd watched more human movies than you could shake a stick at.

Truthfully, I think the reason for her eagerness was to make up for her behaviour earlier on. She reeked of shame when I finally found her, and - to be honest - she'd probably have jumped at any opportunity to reconcile herself, had the opportunity presented itself.

"Just...damn it Al, hold still." She cursed, claws extending to hold me in place.

I obliged with her request for as long as I could, entertaining myself with a book whilst she worked on me, the movie had long since been pushed aside from my mind.

"And...done." She exclaimed, clapping her hands together.

I stretched my limbs as I stood up, bringing my hand up to rub the fatigue from my eyes - except Anya slapped them away.

I growled at her, rubbing my hand as she narrowed her eyes at me and began re-examining my face.

"You have to be careful." She stated, packing up all her beauty products.

I, again, obliged to her request and carefully began selecting a dress to wear to the dinner. Anya had recommended many of hers for me to wear, but Orion had come in and dropped off five brand new ones for me to select from instead.

"I think you should wear this one," Anya suggested, holding a dress up, "It really brings out your eyes."

I wasn't sure if she was joking or not, but I put out my opinion anyway. "My eyes are brown."

She huffed and put the dress back down, picking another up and holding it against my body.

"How about this one?" She asked.

I tilted my head, peering at it. The fabric was soft and smooth; silk and flowed down to just above the knees in a flurry of ruffles. It was a deep, passionate red colour; the kind that constantly reminded you of blood.

Expectedly, Anya requested I take a relaxing bath before I went out, making sure I used relaxing salts and herbal products to calm my wolf. I'd had to admit it worked; my wolf and I were thoroughly cleansed of our stresses by the time I'd come out, and Anya had so graciously pointed out I looked like a new person.

Soon, evening turned to night and the moon rose in the sky, bringing forth the animals of the dark and the daunting reality that I was about to go out with Orion. My wolf churned inside of me with our anxious thoughts, her behaviour shining through with the dull, apprehensive colour of her golden eyes.

Anya noticed this and stopped my pacing, her warm  hands placed on my back as she embraced me tightly.

"You'll be fine." She assured.

I gave her an unsure nod as someone rapped quickly on the other side of the door, their voice slightly muffled as they spoke with urgency.

My wolf picked up on the scent of a female outside of the door, her scent slightly tinted somewhat of a hostile one whilst she spoke.
