I crouched low to the ground. The spring leaves tickled my wolf's underbelly and a low growl escaped my lips, eyes trained on the rabbit that scurried around, unaware of the danger that was imminent.

The rabbit was like me; as I was a few months ago. Young, guarded but carefree, and quick to act. I would have to teach it a lesson, quickly and painlessly, like Orion should have done to me, instead of holding me captive and breaking me.

I could feel him behind me; watching, waiting, observing.

I knew it was too hard for him to let me go so easily. His wolf persisted in him following, even if it was against mine and his wishes. It was only instinct, I knew that, and somehow I was grateful for him watching over me; I didn't know what I was getting into with me going back.

But I had to.
