"Um, I'm sorry, what?"

The little girl smiled, her silver hair swishing around her milky skin. Now that I got a good smell of her, she did seem to have the scent I would think the Moon would have.

If it even had a scent.

"Crystal, introduce yourself to the Alpha Female," Diana said, ushering the little girl towards me.

The little girl looked cautious as if the Moon was telling her something, but she seemed to snap out of it and held out her hand for me to shake.

I gladly took it, but when I tried to pull away, Crystal wouldn't let go. Instead she tightened her grip, a sort of glow coming out of her as she muttered something incoherent under her breath.

"She's in a vision." Diana quickly said, taking Keiko and pulling her out of the room.

"What, wait, don't leave." I blurted.

The door shut behind them and the room was plunged into silence, only then did I realise Crystal's eyes and hair were glowing.

"Ask, and you'll receive an answer." Crystal said. Her voice had a strange airy tint to it, like she was harbouring something else - which she probably was.

I didn't exactly know how Oracle's worked; if I only had a certain number of questions or if I could only ask 'what my heart wanted'.

Whatever it was, I knew who I wanted to ask about first.

"Is Alistair okay?" I asked.

My wolf surfaced at the mention of Alistair, her ears pulled back and paws pacing around my mind, anxious for the answer.

Crystal's hands clamped down onto mine - despite her small size.

"The wolf, Alistair, is a strong male, with someone even stronger he keeps dear to his heart - you. But his rival, the Alpha, smells his passion for you and each day will go to break his wolf...until there's nothing left to break."

"What's that supposed to mean, are you saying that-"

"Ask again."

My wolf growled, irritated. "Are you saying that-"

"No, not that. Ask about him."

My wolf bristled, wondering how this strange girl knew what she was thinking.

I wondered the same thing, but I was more anxious about abandoning my questions about Alistair and diverting to the question about him - my brother.

I had a feeling Crystal knew how I had sleepless nights wondering if he was still alive, but I also had restless nights wondering if Alistair was still alive, and those two conflicting subjects pushed my wolf and I to absolute breaking point.

"One question left, ask before my host begins to tire." Crystal - or the Moon - said.

I knew I could always come back and ask about my brother, but if I didn't ask now, who knows what could happen to him.

"Is...is my brother alive?"

Crystal smiled, her silver eyes seemingly brighter as she answered my question. A small part of me expected my brother to be dead, knowing there was no way he could've survived. But another, irrational, part of me hoped and prayed to the Moon he was alive, no matter what mental state he was in.

"Your brother has faced many challenges after you left, you brought shame and dishonour to your father's title and your family name. Your previous Alpha's tyrannical reign has yet to come to a stop, but I can reveal to you that your brother is-"
