"Hi, Saeran."
"WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU ANSWER ME THE FIRST TIME?" I pull the phone away from my ear and wince at the sudden loud noise. It just so happened to be Saeran's whining reverberating through my skull.
"Calm your tits, man. I just... Feel uncomfortable making phone calls."
He snorted. "Really? That's dumb."
I roll my eyes. I know he can't see it, I just hope he somehow knows through the phone. "Yeah, I know. Thanks for reminding me, asshole. Now, can we worry about the project, since that's why you wanted to call me so bad?"
"Aw, but I was quite enjoying hearing your voice. You sound different over the phone." His voice was soft again, almost like he was purring.
I flush red. Damn, I'm glad he can't see me. He'd tease me about my being flustered. Wait, I'm flustered? I don't GET flustered. I haven't responded to him yet.
"Are you blushing? I know you are." He laughs.
"W-what? No! Shut up!" That just earns more laughter from him.
"You're adorable."
I'm pretty sure I look like a fucking fire hydrant right now. I refuse to let him get to me. "Can we work on the project now like I SAID before, asshat?"
"Well, if your highness insists."
I open my laptop, throwing my phone on the couch cushion next to me after putting it on speakerphone. "Shut up."
"You're the one who wants to work on the project so bad, so get your ass on the document."
"I am, I am. Calm your tits." I quickly open my browser and wait for it to load. There was an awkward silence. "It's loading, hang on."
"You're such a hypocrite. You should have had the tab open already. Why do you want to work on the project so bad, anyway? Don't you just want to chat a little? Like, get to know each other or... something? While it's loading, I-I mean."
I froze a little. That's...strange. Why would he want to know anything about me? I guess we're friends now so...
"Uh... Okay, I guess. What do you want to know?" I say, noticing the browser finally loaded. I started logging into my account.
"I don't know... um... What's your favorite color?"
I laugh. "Seriously? That's the best you can come up with?"
"Hey, at least I'm trying, asshole!" There's a pause. "So..."
"What?"
"What is it?"
"What is what?"
"Your favorite color, dumbass!"
"Okay, okay." I smirk a little at his little tantrum. He can be such a child sometimes. "It's (f/c)."
"...(F/c), huh? That's... a nice color, I guess."
"What's yours?"
"Huh? My what?"
"YOUR favorite color?"
"Oh, uh..." He stumbles over his words. "Why... uh... do you want to know?"
"Because you asked me first?" I laughed
"Oh, right. Um... I don't know. I guess I like green?"
"...Green?"
"Yeah. Like mint colored."
"Oh, like your eyes?" I cover my mouth. Was that something weird? I don't think I should have said that. I shouldn't have brought up his eyes. Oh shit. Now I sound like a stalker or something!
I can practically hear his smirk through the phone. "Yes, like my eyes. Have you been... looking at my eyes a lot, (Y/n)? You seem to be very... familiar with them." Once again, I am thankful he can't see my face. I didn't even know that humans could reach temperatures this high, but here we are. My face feels like I'm standing outside in the sun under a magnifying glass.
"W-what? N-no! I just know what your eyes look like b-because you look into people's eyes when you're being sincere! And it's p-polite. It happens to everyone. Plus I'm v-very observant of these things and I-um..." I finally realize I'm rambling and look down at my hands on resting on the keyboard.
I can just imagine Saeran's face right now; Still smirking, with an eyebrow raised. Damn him. What a dick. "Oh, I see. You're observant, you say?" His tone is mocking.
"No need to be a dick, Saeran." I roll my eyes and click on the document. "I'm here, so why don't we just work on the essay, alright?"
"Yeah, whatever you say, your highness."
"Don't call me that, asshat!"
He chuckles. "If you can call me asshat, I can call you your highness. Or would you prefer princess?" He lowers his voice to that weird purring that he does to make me uncomfortable. Unfortunately for me, it always works.
Somehow I feel my face get hotter. I feel like this is some sort of scientific phenomenon. Scientists might run tests on me to see if my face is radioactive or something. It sure as hell FEELS like it. "N-no thanks. I'm just going to start typing."
"Alright."
~*~*~*~
We worked on that project for what seemed like ages. The essay was 3 and a half pages right now, so we were almost done. Plus, we both agreed on how it was set up.
What time is it? It feels like it's been ages.
I press the home button on my phone and my eyes widen.
"IT'S 11:38?!" I say out loud. Well, more like screech out loud, but that's not important.
"Jesus, (Y/n), you scared me." The screech had broken a long silence that was composed of both of us typing and me being able to hear his quiet breathing through the phone. It was sort of soothing, in a way. Until I ruined it. "Yeah. It's late."
"I know! I'm supposed to be in bed by now!"
"What, you still have a bedtime, princess?" He teases. Why does he tease me so much? Who the hell does he think he is?
"I don't, but I'd much rather go to sleep before midnight than after, if I'm being honest. And I told you not to call me that!"
He laughs. "You're such a child."
I smirk. "Look who's talking."
There is a silence. The clacking of the keys has ceased on both his side and mine.
"I should get to bed. I was being serious, you know. You should go to bed, too."
"I will. Before you go though..." He says the last part quickly, trying to get all the words out before I could hang up.
"Yeah?"
"Are you still coming over tomorrow?" Shit. I forgot about going over to work on the project. I opened my mouth to say 'yes,' when I thought of Zen's warning from yesterday. I bite my lip. Maybe I shouldn't go after all?
"You alright? You haven't said anything for a while." I'm shaken out of my dazed state by his voice.
"Sorry. I'll come over if you'll still have me."
"Of course I'll still have you, dumbass. We have to get this project done. I can't do it alone."
I smile. "True. Thanks, Saeran. Take care of yourself, okay?"
There's a short silence. "Y-yeah, thanks. You too. Bye."
"Bye."
I pick up my phone from where it resides on the couch and unlock it, hanging up the call.
I'm not sure if Saeran is dangerous like Zen warned me, but I guess I'll find out tomorrow after school.
I'm sorry again! The wifi was out again last night... I'll try my best to get the chapter done by tonight. Also I'm going to be on a flight to Florida for February vacation, so I'm not too sure about getting a chapter done tomorrow. If I have time and the wifi at the hotel is good, I'll try my best. It all depends on the wifi, really. I'm sorry if I can't get them out on time.
