"Ah, Miss (L/n). Just the girl I wanted to see." Mrs. Costa smiles at me. She pulled me aside after class today, and Saeran, too. We were both asked to come visit her after school.
"And Mr. Choi as well. This is just perfect!"
"With all due respect, Mrs. C, what are we here for?" I glance at her curiously.
Saeran still says nothing. He's rather shy, even with teachers.
"You see, I graded your project."
"And..." I tap my foot in anticipation. Saeran reaches for my hand and squeezes it out of nervous habit.
"You both did exceptionally well. This means that your grade may pull a full 180, (Y/n)."
I grin and nod. "I hope so. Thank you so much, Mrs. Costa!"
"No problem." She smiles at us both, despite Saeran being unresponsive in our conversation.
I nudge Saeran's side, indicating he respond.
"Thank you." He mumbles, his voice quiet.
Mrs. Costa hears him anyways and smiles. "I'm glad you're coming out of your shell, Saeran."
His face flushes and he looks at his feet.
"I hope you both have a good day. And if you have any issues understanding anything, come see me. I'd be happy to help, (Y/n). You too Saeran, if you need it."
"You too. Thank you very much." I gently pull Saeran towards the door, making sure he said goodbye to our English teacher.
"Why didn't you talk to her?"
"What?"
"Mrs. C. You didn't say much to her at all. And you can't say it's because you're shy or something, because I've seen you talking to her already."
"No reason. Just a bit tired, I guess."
"I don't believe you."
"Can't force you too, now can I, princess?"
"Nope."
I swing our hands between us, walking quickly towards the door of the school. Outside, I break apart from him and lean up to kiss his cheek. We have to part ways, for the first time in a while.
~*~*~*~
I walk home alone. It's okay. I feel alright, despite my usual dependency on my boyfriend.
I don't remember much of the walk home, just that I was excited to get there in the first place. When I do, I basically collapse on the couch. My phone vibrates in my pocket, and I sigh at the thought of having to move from my position. Barely moving my head from the couch cushion, I glance at my phone.
'What's it like being home without me?'
I smirk and quickly type a response. 'Kinda miss you.'
'It's nice to hear you say that.'
'I didn't say anything, I'm typing.'
'Don't backsass me.'
I laugh at his words. 'Sorry.'
'You're lucky that I'm such a nice person. Normal people wouldn't forgive you this easily.'
'Oh, really? I doubt that.'
My phone starts vibrating in my hand and I roll my eyes, answering it.
"Hello?"
"Why are you testing me?"
