Panic

It seems that I spend a lot of my time with Saeran in comfortable silence. He IS really quiet, so I don't know what else I was to expect, but it's still a bit strange. I cap the marker and place it on the desk, lifting up the posterboard. Giving a satisfied nod, I place the posterboard back on the surface of the desk and swivel around to look at Saeran. He's seated indian-style with his back to me. I hear the quiet sound of scissors cutting through paper and close my eyes, matching my breathing to the pattern he was chopping the paper to.

This is so calming. I don't know why I was so worried. It's just like any other work session.

I open my eyes and stand up, looking down at the back of his head.

He looks so focused. Hm... Maybe I can get some revenge.

I smirk and quietly walk over, which was fairly easy due to my footsteps being muffled by the carpet. I gently rest my chin on his head. He tenses up, the scissors in his hand coming to a halt halfway through the paper.

Two can play at this game. Hope he can see that now.

"Whatcha doing?" I focus my gaze on the half-cut paper in front of me. His fingers are still curled through the holes in the scissors, and his other hand is still grasping the paper. Saeran is completely frozen.

"Cutting construction paper for the project." His voice comes out even and I curse inwardly.

He doesn't get flustered as easily as I do, then. I wonder how much it'd take for me to break him...

"Yeah? Well don't let me stop you." I move my head down to rest on his shoulder, watching him begin to cut the paper again. His hands are shaking and I smirk again.

It's not much, but it's something.

"Why are you so close?" He's using his soft tone again.

This must really be affecting him.

I shrug and turn my head, moving my chin into the crook of his neck. "Just watching you work. I finished drawing, so I don't have much else to do."

Saeran's breath hitched for a moment and I knew I had been successful. There was a pause before he placed the scissors and paper on the floor and slowly turned around, giving me time to move. Which I did. I kneel and lean back on my heels, awaiting further instructions and for him to speak.

"I finished cutting and gluing some already." He gestures to a neat pile to the left of his workspace. "You could start planning out where to arrange them on the posterboard."

"Alright." I nod. "I won't glue anything down until we agree on a layout."

He shoots me a quick smile. "Thanks."

Saeran turns back around and I crawl behind him to the pile of papers. It's rather useless standing up to walk 5 steps just to crouch down again and pick them up. Plus, this way is more interesting. I snatch the squares and stand up, speedwalking back to the desk and plopping down in the chair. I hear Saeran stifle a laugh and grin.

I carefully arrange the squares in a pattern over the surface of the posterboard.

"Hey, Saeran?"

"Yeah?"

"I finished. Do you have another pair of scissors somewhere?"

The cutting stops for a second, as if he's thinking.

"Second drawer on the left, I think."

I open it and, sure enough, there are scissors laying on top of a notebook. "Yep. Thanks."
