The Sleepover Part 1

Emma's POV

Its been a few days since our trip to the waterpark. Nothing has really happened these past couple of days. Lucy made a few more friends and Sydney had to stay in the hospital for a day to get the rest of the water pumped out of her stomach. Master let us four that were with her take a few hours off of school to visit her. We all sat by her bed when she was hooked up to the machine that pumped the water out of her. She was asleep at the time and after a while all of us except Gajeel left the room. He claimed that he owed it to her. I asked the hospital if I could view the footage from the security camera for that day. They allowed me to when I explained my reasons. After we left, Gajeel laid his head on Sydney's stomach and fell asleep that way. A few hours later, when Sydney woke up, Gajeel was still asleep. She was shocked at first , but then she started running her fingers through Gajeel's hair. When he started waking up, Sydney quickly put her hand down and acted like she was asleep. I smirked at this. Gajeel got up, and little bit after he got up, Sydney pretended like she was just waking up. Gajeel called the doctor in. Gajeel left while the doctor was unhooking the machine, and once the doctor was done, Sydney went home. I won an award in art for my drawings and that's about all that has happened. Today, I'm meeting up with Mira.

Nobody's POV

Emma walked outside to the courtyard, where Mira was waiting. "Hey Mira!" Emma yelled. Mira turned around. "Hey Emma," she said.  Emma jogged up to Mira. "What did you need to meet for?" asked Emma. "I need your help," Mira said. "Sure whatcha need?" said Emma. "I need you to host a sleepover at your house. I want you to invite Sydney, Gajeel, Laxus, and Lucy. Your mission is to try to get Laxus and Lucy together and Sydney and Gajeel together. " Mira replied. "Yeah, sounds awesome, but how am I going to convince Laxus and Gajeel to come? It's not like were best friends. Sydney and Lucy will be easy though." said Emma. "I can take care of the boys so you just worry about the girls," Mira said with a wink as she walked away.

The bell for class to begin just rang. Gildarts walked in and stood in front of the class with a paper in his hand. "Ok kids, I just got a paper from the office that says you will be doing an overnight project. You will be in groups of five, with two boys and three girls unless there is an odd number of students. Your group will have to stay at one of the group member's homes overnight." he said and Erza  raised her hand. "Yes Erza?" Gildarts said. "Why do we have to do this? Were you told what the project is for? What are we supposed to do together?" she asked. "Look, all they did was tell me what I have just told you and gave me a sheet with the groups that people will be in. I asked them the same question and they just said that all your groups have to do is interact and you can't go to bed early. I have no idea why so I just suggest that you follow the rules." he said. "Okay now for the groups. The first group we have is Gray, Juvia..." Gildarts was cut off by a scream and a loud 'THUMP'. The class looked to see Juvia laying on the floor with hearts in her eyes and mumbling "Gray-sama'. "Okay... Continuing. Also in that group is Erza, Jellal, and Cana. The second group is Emma, Sydney, Gajeel, Laxus, and Lucy." he said and as he kept naming off the groups, Emma looked down at her phone to see that she got a text message from Mira. She opened it up and it said 'Operation Lalu and Sajeel is a GO!'. Emma smiled and put her phone away. Gildarts then plopped down in the chair and fell asleep.

 Sydney scooted over to Emma. "Hey Emmie! We're in the same group!" she cheered. "Yeah, I'm exited!" Emma cheered back. Lucy, Laxus, and Gajeel then walked over. "Who's house are we staying at?" Lucy asked. "We can stay at my place," Emma offered. "Sure! My place is pretty messy. I live with Natsu, what do you expect?" Sydney said. The three girls laughed but Laxus and Gajeel just stood there, stone-faced. Gajeel had his eyes closed so Sydney poked him in the cheek. She just left her finger there, squishing Gajeel's cheek. He opened his eyes and glared at her. Sydney smirked and pushed her finger harder. He grabber her arm and threw her. She crashed into the wall a few feet off the ground and yelped, then fell to the floor with an 'oompf'. Emma ran over and tried to heal Sydney, but Sydney rolled over and pushed Emma away. "I've got this, don't waste your strength," she said to Emma. Emma just sat back, shocked. 'Why would Gajeel do that?' Emma thought. Lucy tried to run over to Sydney but Laxus grabbed her shoulder. "I suggest you leave her be. She's probably pissed." Laxus said. Sydney pushed herself up so she was on one knee. One of her eyes was squeezed shut and she cold-heartedly glared at Gajeel as she wiped  blood from the corner of her mouth. "Uh, sorry," Gajeel said with a grunt. Sydney used the wall for support as she stood all of the way up and walked to her seat with a slight limp. By now, everyone in the room was staring. Gajeel was just sitting in his own seat, staring out the window. Sydney plopped down in her seat and looked around to see everyone, except Gajeel, staring at her. "What are you looking at!" she yelled and everyone looked away. The bell for lunch rang and kids started filing out of rooms and heading to lunch. Gajeel secretly felt bad for what he had done. He hadn't meant for it to go that far. Being the stubborn person he is, he didn't want to get all apologetic in front of everyone so he was going to talk to her before she walked out the door for lunch. She was one of the last people to leave and Gajeel stood in front of her before she left the room so he could talk to her. He started to say something, but she just looked away and shouldered him as she walked past. Gajeel stood there, shocked, but then scoffed and walked to the lunchroom to eat.

At Sydney's lunch table, it was eerily quiet. Sydney wasn't eating and she just had her head laid on her arms and nobody could see her face. Everyone just left her alone thinking that she needed her space, but what they didn't know was that Sydney was secretly crying. Of course, Natsu had to cause trouble and was sent flying right into Sydney. She stood up, grabbed Natsu by the shirt, and lifted him up.  Her hair was floating upwards and was on fire, her eyes turned red and she had tears streaming down her face. Sydney was about to punch Natsu but then her hair went back to normal, eyes turned back to blue, and she lowered her arm. She dropped Natsu and ran out of the cafeteria, crying. Everything was quiet. "Sis?" Natsu squeaked. Emma got up and ran out after Sydney.

Where Gajeel was sitting, he was froze in place, eyes wide. "Shit, what have I done?' he thought.

Lucy got up and helped Natsu up. He was about to run out the door, but two hands grabbed his shoulders. Laxus and Lucy. They both shook their heads and Natsu went and sat in his seat.
