Chapter 3: The Dragon Appears

Seryu looked at the boy in a little bit of shock but quickly got rid of the shocked expression replacing it with a crazed and angered look. "Koro KILL HIM!!!" She shouted at the top of her lungs. Koro quickly responded and ran towards the boy.

"You just can't stay down can ya." He said with a smile on his face. He moved his right foot over a couple inches and put his hands on his knees. He looked down for a mere second and his cheeks expanded. A noise could be heard signalling that something was building up strength in his mouth. "Roar of the Fire Dragon!" Large amounts of fire came out of his mouth and launched towards the beast like a steel column.

Koro took the blast head on, flew past Seryu and crashed. When Seryu got up she saw Koro was at its limit and was back in its original form all burned and wounded.

"What is he?" Mine said as she tried to carry Sheele to the best of her abilities. 'I've got to get Sheele out of here and get back to the base.' She thought as she started to run, but much to her surprise she ran into someone and her head got caught in between two giant melons it seemed like. 'What is this?' She thought trying to get out as Sheele dropped onto the ground breathing shallowly.

"Oh looks like I got someone." Leone said laughing a little bit only to stop, shocked to see that Sheele was on the ground with blood pouring out of her injury.

"Mine what happened to Sheele?" Tatsumi said helping Sheele off of the ground. "What happened to you?!" He quickly added seeing Mine's arm not moving.

"There's no time. We have to get out of here while that person is buying us time." Mine said as she pulled her head out.

"Who's buying us time?" Leone asked.

"The fire kid, or I mean Drew or whatever his name is. Please we gotta get Sheele out of here." Mine said with pleading eyes. Tatsumi and Leone both nodded with Tatsumi picking up Mine and Leone carrying Sheele as they raced off towards the Night Raid Base.

Drew, still back at where the fighting had begun, sniffed around. "Seems like they got away. Thank goodness." He then directed his attention towards Seryu who was trying to scoot her way towards Koro. "I thought for sure you would be more of a problem, but I guess not." Drew walks towards her only to hear a voice behind him along with the footsteps and clanging of metal armor and swords.

"You stop where you are." The guard said looking at him with his sword pointing in his general direction. "Put your hands up or else you will be executed here and now."

"Fine fine whatever you say." Drew said turning his head to look at the young guard who looked a little scared. He could clearly tell that the guard was nervous along with the others by how they held their swords. To his ears all he could hear was the shaking of their bodies inside their armor. Drew quickly gave off a happy grin. "Alright I'm leaving."

"No your not! You will be presented to the Emperor himself and sentenced there." He quickly started walking towards him but with much to his surprise he felt a sharp pain in his chest. He looked down to see reddish, brown hair swaying around crazily only to realize it was the man itself.

"Too slow." The force of the punch destroyed the centerpiece of the armor and pushed the guard into his companions knocking almost all of them down. "Time to leave." Drew said as fire ignited in his hands. He then crossed his arms. "Wing Slash of the Fire Dragon." His arms fell with incredible speed grazing against the ground sending a wall of fire to spread between him and the guards. As soon as it dispersed the remaining guards, who weren't hit by their own friends body, all moved in to see that the man had left completely disappeared into the night.

Seryu laid against a tree that was destroyed during the fighting with Koro in her lap. "We will kill that man Koro. For Master Ogre. For Justice." She said as tears began to fall, but only to be followed by a crazy grin which made her laugh uncontrollably. That night madness had found its path into her heart causing even more corruption than before.

A few hours later at the Night Raid Base...

Scheele laid in her bed. Bandages were all around the hole that had torn into her chest and back. The doctor took her temperature than her pulse to make sure that both were still running at a normal pase. As he walked out of the room he was confronted with worried faces of anger and sadness. Leone looked like she might burst out into tears. Akame looked at the ground wide eyed. Lubbock was leaning against the wall playing with strings. Mine held her broken and bandaged arm as tears fell onto it. Her pink hair was in a mess and tears streamed down her cheeks like twin waterfalls. Tatsumi did his best to help the crying pink haired girl despite being on the edge of tears himself.

Najenda walked over to the doctor with a sorrowful look. "How is she?" She asked with a pleading look.

"The bullet went through the back hitting the spine and going through the center of the chest. From what I can tell it seems to have missed her heart only by an inch though I'm not sure if she will be able to walk on her own from now on. I'd recommend that she come with me to the Revolutionary Army camp. We have more equipment there that can help her."

Najenda nodded and looked around at everyone who nodded their heads agreeing to this. She then looked to Mine who slowly moved her head to look at her and the Doctor. "W-will she l-live." She said sobbing uncontrollably that is was messing with her speech.

"She will live." He said with a smile on his face which only made Mine cry even more as she fell to her knees holding onto Tatsumi's leg.

Tatsumi only could pat his friends head as she cried tears of joy. "She's gonna be alright. Everything is gonna be okay." He said with a smile hiding the sadness in his words. Mine looked up and saw the smile through her teary eyes which made her blush and smile slightly as well.

Just as things were beginning to be cheerful Lubbock's finger twitched. "What?" Using his Teigu, Infinite Uses: Cross Tail, which is a wire based imperial arms that allows the user to use the steel wires as plans for traps, offensive, and defensive capabilities as well, he checks the wires and feels a slight tug on one of them. "Everyone someone is coming near the base. He passed the detection area that I had setup."

Najenda quickly pointed to Bulat. "Go and intercept whoever it is." Bulat nodded and headed left the hallway in a hurry. She then pointed towards Akame and Tatsumi. "You two go as his backup just in case."

Yes mam." They both said. Akame raced off as Tatsumi picked up Mine and helped her to her room. Right before leaving Mine grabbed Tatsumi's arm.

"Be careful okay?" She said with a sincere smile and blush after wards. All Tatsumi could do was nod and smile back before running out of her joining Akame outside.

A few yards away from the Base...

"Man I'm so hungry." Drew said rubbing his stomach. He hadn't had anything to eat for a couple weeks and he had ran on empty during the fight with Seryu. "I could kill for something to eat right about now." Just then out of the corner of his eye he saw a large spear about a few inches away from his head. He quickly dodged only to feel an incredible shock wave as the spear hit the ground causing debris to fly everywhere. As Drew wiped the specs of dirt and grass off his face he saw before him a set of armor which was bigger than him. It covered the person head to toe with two large yellow eyes glaring at him. The man in armor held a large spear in one hand and in the other he had his fist closed ready to strike. "Pretty clever their tin man. Didn't think someone would be able to get the heads up on me like that."

"You're clearly out skilled than. Surrender and I'll make sure your death is quick and painless." The armored man said as he griped the spear with both hands. The wind picked up blowing the cap that was behind him.

"Sorry but I can't do that. I've got something I need to do here I can't die to the hands of someone like you." Drew raised his hand, flames coming out. "I will make sure to heat that armor up so much that you'll burn alive." He said charging at him. "Let's go!"
