Chapter 19: The Destructive Battle in the Canyon

As the battle was about to commence Akame looked at Drew one more time before looking towards the monstrous danger beast ahead of them. It seemed as though it had taken no damage from Drews attack but there was one thing that didn't look right. The X on its chest had grown bigger as if it had taken the impact instead. She than looked towards the enemies which had appeared from the ground along with the beast. 'Eight bodies. She will be really sluggish since it puts a lot of stress on her. I won't waste this opportunity." She said while rushing towards her sister. She climbed the danger beast and held her sword high swinging it only to hit against her sisters sword. The two traded numerous blows before Akame backed off and dashed forward for a finishing blow. However one of the corpses lunged out and blocked her attack. Akame's eyes widened as she recognized the dead person who blocked her. "N-Natala.." She said. He than pushed her off and started swinging his staff like sword around trying to hit her. Akame then jumped into the air dodging one of the attacks. "Return him to the ground! Isn't he a friend you gee up with!" She said as she fell back towards the earth.

Natala rushed in but than jumped to the side as Kurome ran towards her sister. "What do you mean sister?" The two sisters swords hit each other right as Akame landed. As the two swords parted Kurome went behind Akame. "Because he is my friend," she said, "I want to always be with him. I'll add you to my collection, as well, Sis. That way, we can be together, like long ago." She said with this smile hoping for it to come true.

"Don't be a fool!" She said swinging around about to strike Kurome but Natala blocked the attack and sent her flying off to the ground.

Kurome just stood there not looking back at her sister. "Too bad."

Bols who was left on the ground held up his Imperial Arms: Purgatory's Invitation: Rubicante and the turbine like container on his back started spinning up. "Magma Drive." He said as a spinning ball of fire was launched at Akame. "You now don't have anyone to take my flames away. Burn for all your crimes!" He shouted at her.

Akame watched, shocked at what she was seeing. 'That Imperial Arms also had a long-ranged attack?' She thought seeing the fireball get closer.

Just at the knick of time Tatsumi grabbed Akame in mid air and accelerated away before the attack reached them. "Snap out of it." He said to her. "This isn't like you, Akame!"

Akame was speechless for a mere moment as she collected her thoughts. "I'm sorry." She said as Tatsumi reached the ground and put her down.

Tatsumi looked up at the bonafide dragon and at the corpses standing in their way. "They don't seem like an enemy we can easily defeat." He said as the dragon brought its hand up to the right side of the canyon in which it was facing to let Kurome and Natala off.

Kurome looked down at the battlefield and started talking. 'Sis... You betrayed us and joined the likes of them. Get them Desta Ghoul!" The dragon raised its head to the sky and a bright blue ball started to appear. Everyone ran towards the sides of the canyon for cover. Leone dashed to the right, Susanoo grabbed Najenda and moved her to the left while Akame was picked up by Tatsumi who picked up Drew as well to and ran for the right. The beast fired down upon Night Raid and destroyed most of the Canyon floor with this incredible beam of energy.

Mine even though above the canyon on the cliff took shelter behind some trees since the shockwave was so powerful. "So that's the mega-class Danger Beast's strength... This is Crazy!" When the smoke cleared the entire landscape had changed immensely. It was a large barren area now which looked right for battle.

Kurome laughed as she looked at the area around them. "The landscapes changed. However," She said pulling out one of her cookies and eating it, "I have to hand it to the notorious Night Raid. You all dodged it surprisingly." She ate another cookie with a smile.
