Chapter 16: The Evolving Threat

As the sun rose on the small house Night Raid was living in most of its sunlight shown in the room of the sleeping dragon. As he opened his eyes he immediately shielded them from the rays of light. Before long though he gave a large yawn and slowly sat up. Before making it halfway up however he felt as if he was being pushed down only to remember the small woman that was in the bed with him. As the sun shone her black hair glistened in the sunlight. It was a perfect morning to see this since the sun had captured her unique beauty with such suddenness. Her feet were the first to wake up as he could feel under the covers then her arms with lastly her head moving up to put against his shoulder. Her eyes opened revealing the ruby red eyes which when it hit by the sun's rays sparkled like real ruby gems. "Morning." She said in a sleepy voice before giving him one last hug and getting off the bed.

All he could do was smile at how beautiful she was and how he wanted to protect her forever. "Morning." He said replying a little late.

She turned around to face him and started to stretch her arms a little. "I'm going to go get dressed. I'll meet you downstairs for breakfast with everyone else." She said before walking to the door and leaving. Not waiting for him to respond was a common thing to happen in the morning. She would usually wait till he was up then leave but this time he had woken up before her.

As Drew got out of his bed he walked over to the window to look out into the small valley in which they were living in. Though it wasn't like there old base it was better than nothing. Besides it wasn't permanent. This was only a resting point till the new base was constructed. He just hoped that everyone would be able to see and live in it. 'No everyone will be able to see and live in it.' He thought with a smile. He then moved away from the window and started to get ready for the day.

Drew walked down the steps to a large fight breaking out over Mine and Leone. As the two bickered at each other Drew walked over to Chelsea who was watching in amusement. "Morning." She said with a sweet smile.

"Morning." He replied and looked back at the two women. "Why are those two fighting?" He asked not looking at her.

"Well they keep bickering about who is getting Tatsumi. It's weird huh I mean all those two fight about is what's best for him. Leone's argument is saying that her having the bigger set and being a more mature women is better for him. Mine's argument is saying that being a loving wife and living a happy life together is better." Chelsea's smile than turned wicked as she looked at Drew. "What do you think?" She said smiling evilly.

Drew sighed. "Personally." There was a slight pause. "I just don't give a damn and I think they're both idiots."

Leone and Mine both stopped bickering at each other and looked at Drew evilly. "What the hell did you say?" They said. Before Drew could reply two fists collided with his face. One fist from the small pink girl and one from the large yellow haired girl. The combined fists sent him flying into the wall knocking him out and making his nose bleed.

Chelsea trying to contain herself burst out into laughter before jumping up shouting, "Success!" and running off into the kitchen.

Lubbock and Tatsumi both came down the stairs with Akame right behind them. "Morning everyone." Tatsumi said before looking over to see Drew knocked out. He then points towards his direction. "What the hell happened?" He said with a kind of worried look.

Leone was the first to reply as she hugged Tatsumi. "Oh nothing at all." She said laughing as Tatsumi was slowly sucked into the crevice of death.

Mine started to poke Leone demanding she let Tatsumi go only to get Leone's tongue stuck out towards her which angered the Pink haired girl. Lubbock and Akame watched the three with a small laugh before walking over towards Drew's lifeless body. "Geez whoever did this really knocked him out. W-was this Najenda?" He asked in shock.
