Chapter 24: The Short Reunion

The two weeks Drew had trained had finally passed and there was still no word from Najenda or any of the members of Night Raid. At this point he had worried that they had been captured and killed but tried to let those thoughts rest at the bottom of his mind. He instead focuses on the training he had worked so hard on. So far he was able to increase his move pool with a few new techniques taught to him by Hiryū also he was able to increase a lot more of his physical abilities which should help him in the long run. While thinking through all of this his stomach started to growl like crazy. "I guess I should make something to eat." He laughed to himself as he walked downstairs to the main hall. As he walked into the kitchen he smelled something nearby. He stopped in his tracks and sniffed the air again trying to determine what it was or who. He couldn't tell who it was but he knew it was human. He jolted towards the front door where the smell was coming from and as he he sped up. He than jumped into the air hoping to catch the intruders off guard right when they entered. As the door opened Drew realized the problem with his plan. The people who were there weren't trespassers of the capitol but instead Akame, Najenda, Su, and Mine. As Akame looked up feeling something about to come near her she freaked seeing a person about to land on her. "I'm sorry!" Drew yelled before crashing into her.

The other three looked at the two and shook their heads. "Looks like someone missed us." Mine said walking over and punching Drew in the pack of the head. "You could have killed us idiot." She said before walking inside. Najenda and Su just walked by them without saying a word and Akame was starting to wake up from being flattened by Drew.

When she came too she tried to get Drew off of him and after a short time he did. "S-sorry about that. I thought you were trespassers or even worse the capitol." He said in a nervous kind of tone. As he helped her up he realized he didn't see Lubbock and Tatsumi. "Hey where are Lubbock and Tatsumi?" He asked confused.

Najenda sat down as Su walked into the kitchen going to prepare dinner. "They went to the capitol to make sure everything is in order. I just hope those two have are able to get everything before the invasion begins in a couple weeks." She said with a worried look on her face.

Drew nodded and walked inside with Akame who sat down at the table. "What's even worse is that we won't be able to communicate with them so we have no way if they've been hurt or anything. We just got to believe that they will make it out alive." She said. A few seconds go by and Su brings out three silver platers and places them down before Akame, Najenda, and Mine who immediately start to dig into their food.

Drew looked at them all and his stomach growled loudly. All of them looked at him and moved their food away. "Common you gotta share!" He said loudly.

As everyone finished up their food Najenda wiped her mouth off with a napkin and began to speak. "The Invasion will commence in around 2 weeks. We need to prepare ourselves for the battle since it will be the defining one." Everyone there nodded agreeing with what she said. "With that tomorrow we will begin to train and prepare ourselves so get some rest." She than got up and proceeded to head to her room. Mine got up and stretched ready to get into her own bed.

Akame got up and walked over to Drew and proceeded to tug on his shoulder. "Ready for bed?" She asked. Drew nodded and followed her up to his room. She however ran back to her room because she needed to get clothes to sleep with on so he was all by his lonesome for a bit.

When he entered his room the first thing he did was sit down on his bed. It has been a couple weeks since he had seen Akame and the others though it still bothered him that Tatsumi and Lubbock weren't with them. Sure they were on a special assignment but it didn't seem right. Almost like there was some kind of trap waiting for them in the capitol. 'Then again both Lubbock and Tatsumi are trained fighters and impressive ones at that so they should be fine.' He thought as he began to lay down on the bed. Just then Akame burst through the door then proceeded to close it when she got inside. She than jumped onto the bed and feel instantly asleep like she hadn't slept in ages. Drew laughed at this and smiled. "Tomorrow we better do our best." He said to her before falling asleep himself.
