Aurora's POV
I shifted nervously on the balls of my feet. The girl looking back at me in the mirror showed signs of stress. Well obviously I'm stressed, tonight was the night I was going to meet John's friends. It's Friday night and John was taking me to a party at his friends house. Apparently it was going to be crazy since his friend, Drew didn't know the meaning of restraint. I am currently wearing a tight black dress and heels, and wondering if it's too much. I haven't been to a party in a while, but I still want to make a good impression. It's too much, right? Just as I was about to change, I heard a knock at the front door. Hoping to keep my brothers from scaring John away, I sprinted down the stairs just as Nick opened the door to a very surprised John.
"Hey buddy, what's your name?" John questioned.
I couldn't help but snicker from my position at the bottom of the steps. Buddy? Nick is not going to like this.
I was surprised as Nick quickly responded by sticking out his little hand and squeaking, "I'm Nick, who are you?""I'm John, and it's very nice to meet you Nick." Of course he would be good with kids.
I cleared my throat and walked confidently over to my boys. "I hope I'm not interrupting." I said, smiling.
Nick giggled and screamed "NOPE!" as he ran to the kitchen.
As I turned to John, I was met with a stunned expression.
"Wow." He stated, causing me to smooth my hands over my dress. If he kept staring at me like that, I don't know what I would do.
"So, should we be going?" I pleaded, hoping to snap him out of his trance.
"Yeah, of course," he replied, stepping to the side and gesturing as if to say ladies first. I smiled innocently and sauntered past him, adding a little extra swish to my hips as a walked. He closed the door and ran to catch up to me.
"You look beautiful Aurora"
I stopped and turned. His face was pure and easily readable. He had it bad for me too. That's probably why I ran over and kissed him. I kissed him like I never had before, throwing all my passion into it. His lips were still for a moment, then reacted with an equal force. I could feel his emotions coursing through my body, and I'm sure he could feel mine as well. Suddenly I stepped back.
"As much as I would like to stay here all night, we should probably get going. I don't want to be late to meet your friends," I stuttered, still winded from the kiss.
"I think my friends would understand if we were a little late," John chuckled as he pulled me in for another kiss, but something felt a little off. After what seemed like an eternity, we broke apart and he opened the car door for me. I knew something was going to happen tonight, but I had no idea what to expect.
