Aurora's POV

The solid wall I ran into turned out to be a well defined chest of a tall man. I gazed up to meet a smirk and deep hazel eyes.
"Who's this pretty lady?" The man questioned, and I couldn't help but giggle at his strong southern accent.
"Aurora, it's a pleasure to meet you." I responded with a smile.
"The pleasure is all mine I assure you, my name is Grayson." he chuckled, as he extended his hand for a shake.
"Now Aurora, I haven't seen you around these parts before. What brings you to our humble pack house?"
"Uh... just getting a grand tour?" I don't know if I should be announcing that Drew and I are mates. I mean everyone else around here seems to know but this man, so what's the point of hiding it? "I'm going to live here I think." I finished off, realizing how unsure I am of my future. I seriously do not know what is to come, but perhaps that is part of the excitement of this life.
"You sound a little unsure for our next Luna," Grayson chided. "You think I wouldn't know who the next boss lady is?"
I laughed along with him and glanced at John who looked a little impatient. Do I sense tension between the two?
Grayson interrupted my thoughts by saying, "I don't want to keep you, enjoy your tour! I'm sure I'll be seeing you around Aurora. John." He stated, sending a nod in his direction. I am definitely sensing tension between the men, but I have no idea why. I reverted my attention to the house, and jogged to catch up with John who was already a few meters away.
"Slow your roll cowboy, remember, short legs here?" I joked, hoping to see a grin on his face. Instead I was met with a stony, impassive expression that could only mean one thing: he was pissed off.
"What's wrong?"
"We'll talk about this later, I need to show you the house first." He spit out, striving ahead of me to separate our steps.
"I'm not going anywhere until you have a grin on your face and this issue is solved." I meant every word that I said to him. I stopped right in the center of the hallway and waited until he finally noticed that I was no longer running after him. His deep sigh indicated that I was in for in, and I began to mentally psych myself up as he strode towards me.
"You shouldn't be talking to unmated males when you, yourself are not yet mated. Especially since you are the future Luna. You wouldn't want to endanger this pack, would you?" He practically yelled at me.
"No, of course not, but how am I hurting the pack by meeting its members?"
"You were flirting." He growled.
"I assure you John, I was not. Drew is the only one for me now, just like you have Claire." I replied, trying to remedy the situation. We were starting to draw a crowd, and I didn't like the negative attention. This was my first time meeting my fellow pack members, and they will forever have a tainted view of my character! I want these people to trust me, not hate me.
"I apologize, I'm just starting to get used to this whole mate thing myself. Grayson is notorious with the ladies, and I thought I saw mischief in his eyes." John admitted.
"Thank you John, I was just trying to be friendly. Who is Grayson anyways?"
"He's the Alpha of the neighboring pack: the Starlight Pack."
Figuring I should change the topic, I quickly said "How about that house tour?"
"Sure." He laughed.

John began to lead me around the massive house, pointing out all his favorite spots.

I was too curious not to ask, so I blurted, "Do you live here? I thought you lived next door to me."

He looked at me puzzled, "Of course I live next to you. I'm just here so often because I am Drew's Beta. So basically, I'm second in command here."

"So you have to know your way around... I'm sorry." I trailed off.

"Don't worry about it," He chuckled, "Now do you want to get back to this tour?"

I agreed and we stepped further into the house. Before me was a three story foyer, with a grand staircase leading to the upstairs from both sides of the room. The floors were covered in a glossy black and white tile pattern, and a glittering diamond chandelier hung from the ceiling. My gaze was pulled up to the ceiling, decorated with an ornate design that looked as if it required many hours of hard work. To the right, a wide hallway led off to what I thought was the kitchen. On the left, another hallway branched off into a immense living room, complete with a grand piano.
