EDITED- PART OF THE REWRITE!
The sun peeks through my curtain less windows, awakening me from a restless night.
I barely slept due my ever curious mind. All I could do was wonder who the person next door is.
Deciding to actually be productive for once, I pull myself out of my warm bed and onto the floor. That was a bad idea. Did I really think pushing myself onto the hardwoods would help, at all? My gaze shifted to the rest of the disaster area I call my room.
Boxes are strewn about, some half opened, revealing an assortment of my past lives.
In one box, I had packed all my things from when we lived in California. Oversized sunglasses, expensive purses, and a Starbucks gold card were all present.
I had decided to fit in with the rest of my temporary classmates, and for the short period of time that I was there, it worked. Looking back, I almost regret trying to change who I am to fit my surroundings. Each new life I encountered had its difficulties, but now, my final move, I'm planning on just being myself.
I'm not sure how most people would describe the real me, but it might be along the lines of nerd. I am freakishly obsessed with books, if my bookshelf is any indication. The first thing that drew me to this room is the expansive bookshelf, spanning an entire wall next to the window.
Last night, I got to work unpacking all my books into my new home. I somehow managed to shove my impressive collection onto the shelves, and I'm proud of my efforts.
My stomach grumbled, interrupting my daydream.
