Ok back to the story!Drew's POV
I knew I had found her when we touched last night. I had accidentally brushed against her, and the feeling was all new. My wolf screamed MATE! every moment I spent with her. Those moments turned into all night. We talked for hours, and the more I got to know my mate, the more I knew how fate could not be more right. This girl is perfect for me. Still, I don't think she knows that she is a werewolf. Oh, the ways I could tell her. For right now, I'm going to enjoy Aurora sleeping next to me so peacefully.
We eventually had to get up, and I volunteered to take her home. I grasped my hand in hers as we headed down the path to my Jeep.
"I like your car," Aurora giggled, her laugh ringing like little bells in my ears. My mate is perfect.
I opened the door for her and she settled into the passenger seat. I ran around the front and quickly got in, smiling at her. Her grin back was the most beautiful thing on the planet. I let her pick the song for the ride, and we sang along (LOUDLY i might add) the whole trip back. It felt like we had known each other forever, even if we had only met last night.
As I pulled up to her house, Aurora started to groan.
"I forgot to tell my parents where I was last night!"
I turned and grimaced. "Did you get any calls from them?" I asked.
"My phone died sometime last night, so they're probably furious by now." she whispered.
"Don't tell them you were with me!" I exclaimed. If her father knew that she was with me, he would have some suspicions. Since he was once Alpha of a strong pack, he used to meet with my father before he died. My father was the Alpha of the Starlight Pack, and with his sudden death, the role was passed on to me. I am one of the youngest Aplhas in all the packs, at only 18 years old. Yes, I know I'm a Junior so what? I stayed back a grade in kindergarten, but that's besides the point. If Aurora's father sees us together, we are screwed.
Aurora's POV
I turned to glance at Drew's face to try and read his emotions. He seemed awfully frantic about keeping us a secret, and I can't help but feel a little hurt. As he sat there in thought for a moment, I formulated my excuse. I would tell my parents that I had run into my friend, Emily from school and she had invited me to sleepover. Like my parents would ever believe that. No, I just fell asleep at the house and my phone died so I couldn't respond. Perfect, honesty is the best policy. Meanwhile, Drew still sat there thinking. Before I got out of the car, I smiled evilly (is that even a word?) as a thought came to me. I went in to give him a kiss on the cheek, but he turned his head ever so slightly at the last second. All I felt was fireworks. As his lips moved against mine, the feeling was indescribable. Time seemed to pass at an alarming rate with Drew, and this moment was no exception. By the time I pulled away, the clock on his dashboard read 8:40 am. I just spent twenty minutes kissing this man, and I still wanted more. Slightly dazed, I backed out of the car and ran up the steps to my door. I stepped in the house, but not without waving goodbye to a grinning, green eyed boy.
Once inside however, the tables turned. Gone was the happiness of the previous moment as it was replaced with fear. Right in front of me stood two infuriated adults.
"Where have you been?" My father demanded, snarling the words through his teeth. I could see a vain popping out of his forehead and practically steam coming from his ears. I always knew my dad had slight issues with anger, but never to this extent.
"We have been so worried," sobbed my mother. Oh mother, always the face of reason. I glanced over her teak soaked face before drowning under a wave of guilt. She had been concerned all night, when I was having the time of my life. Now I was second guessing my excuse, trying to find something, anything that could repair the damage my night had caused.
"Oh mom, I'm so sorry. I don't know what happened to me, I've become so irresponsible. I just fell asleep last night, and my phone wasn't charged. If it was I would've called you. I can't even begin to express my regret for causing you such worry." I explained, attempting to rectify the situation. I couldn't bear to face my father, but I knew I would have to do it sometime. Once I met his furious gaze, I shrunk back slightly.
"Daddy?" I questioned, hoping to stir a forgiving response.
"Not another word." He dismissed me and walked away. My mother nodded towards the direction of my room. Before I could go, she grabbed my arm and whispered, "I'll try and talk some sense into him right now, only if you tell me about that boy you were kissing outside. Remember, your mother sees everything." Shocked, I looked and her face and caught her wink before she skipped away to find my father.
I shuffled to my room and plopped on the bed. I rolled to the side of the mattress where I had my diary and wiggled it out. I began to write the events of my day:
May 17
Dear Diary,
Last night was extremely eventful. I thought I was in love with John, but perhaps that was lust. My emotions are scattered everywhere, and I am acting just like another silly teenager. Perhaps when I turn 17 tomorrow, I will become wiser. Probably not, but can you blame a girl for trying? Anyways, back to last night. I went to a party with John, and there I met someone who I had an instant connection with. His name is Drew, and this morning we kissed for the first time. I had thought about it all night while I slept in his arms, but the reality of this morning was so much better. I think....
PING!
I looked up from my messy scrawl to see another pebble bounce against my window.
PING!
I set aside the notebook and padded to open the curtains. Outside stood Drew, poised to throw another pebble. I waved frantically until he noticed me and grinned. I opened the window as he began to whisper to me.
"Aurora..."
I woke with a start, knocking my diary off my lap. Was that just a dream? Groaning, I rubbed my groggy eyes and peered out the window just to be sure it was my imagination. Instead of finding Drew, I looked into the eyes of a whole other creature. A wolf.
AN://
In case you didn't catch it, Aurora is writing in her diary when she falls asleep and dreams that Drew is outside her window. When she wakes up, she goes to check if it was real and sees a wolf right there.
