Aurora's pov

I stood there shocked for a moment. How could I possibly be a werewolf? This must be a joke. Apparently I thought this joke was so funny, that I started to burst out laughing. Puzzled, Drew looked at me with confusion in his eyes.
"Are you ok?" He questioned.

I started to pinch myself, thinking this must be another dream. As I kept going, nothing was happening. That meant that this was real.

"What do you mean I'm a werewolf?" I asked incredulously.

"You have the blood of an animal. Werewolves are half human and also half wolves." Drew started, "I can explain it all to you if you promise to calm down."

I nodded, trying to come to terms with the situation. "Explain." I stated, throwing him my most deadpanned look.

"Ok, well where to start..." He began, "So your father is a werewolf, in fact he used to be a powerful one at that. He was what we called an Alpha. This gave him the power to control an entire pack of werewolves like you and me. He was very powerful until he betrayed the loyalty of his pack."

"What did he do?" I prompted, still trying to come to terms with the new information. My father? He was, or I guess is a werewolf. From what Drew is telling me, he was a powerful one at that. "Go on." I added.

"Your father fell in love with a human."

"My mother?" I inquired.

"Yes, your mother. For werewolves, we have something called mates. The Moonlight Queen is our equivalent of your God. She pairs each werewolf with another because they are perfect for each other. Their connection is stronger than anything else, it can heal diseases, create magic, and inspire armies. Your father was already aging, and he still hadn't found his mate. This made him turn to the human world to find a replacement. There he found your mother, and they fell deeply in love. When he finally found his mate, the pack expected him to leave your mother to accept his destined love. The pack was truly looking for a werewolf Luna, for they did not want a human to rule them. Your father rejected his mate, which was the equivalent of treason. The pack removed him as Alpha, and he has been a rouge ever since." Drew explained.

"So my father went against everything he was supposed to for the love of my mother?" I queried. The notion was beyond romantic to me, and I really hope I can find a love like that someday.

"Yes, he went against the pack in it's time of need. You see, all the packs have been at war ever since."

"So I'm a werewolf too? I've never turned into a furry animal so that can't be possible." I laughed, thinking of how ridiculous this was.

"You are a werewolf Aurora, you just haven't shifted. Usually once you complete the mating process, you shift for the first time. Or, if you become Alpha."

"What do you mean by the mating process?"

"Once you and your mate... make love for the first time and he bites you, the process is complete." He replied, looking shy.

I blushed and realized something. He was already a wolf, so he must have already found his mate and done.. all that. He's too young to be Alpha I'm assuming, so our kiss this morning was meaningless. He already had the love of his life, so why was he kissing me. I wasn't sure if I should ask, but I had to know. "Why did you kiss me if you have already found your mate?"

"Because Aurora, you are my mate." After the shock had subsided, my brain connected the dots. "So if you haven't mated already, that must mean that you're an..."

"Alpha. Yes I am." he finished.
