                                         Measuring Devon

Steveson:

Pulling up to the parking lot, he let her out of the vehicle.

"Yo, hurry up Devon wants us all to go shopping," he told Nakia as he watched her strut her stuff as she walked in front of his vehicle.

Why??? asked Nakia

"We have to buy an outfit for the "photo shoot" tomorrow.

"So make sure you grab something quick." "We are expected to be at King Of Prussia Mall in a half hour tops" he shouted at her.

"Okay, I'll be really quick" Nakia reassured him.

Stevenson, watched as she entered the building.

"Damn," he thought as he studied her. 

"She's perfect!"

Nakia:

Entering the store, she came up to the salesperson and told her what colors, gemstones, shirts, including the other apparel she needed, and the salesperson. Nodding her head, the salesperson quickly went and got her orders.

"That will be $898.00," she said as she came back with the items.

The other sales clerk said something smart to the other salesperson.

"I bet she can't even afford it," she said.

They both laughed.

Nakia heard every word they said but didn't react.

Instead, she gave them a smirk as she swiped the card which read "Famous Records" in big bold printed letters.

The sales clerks looked at each other in "disbelief."

"What's the matter bitches cat caught your tongues????" she asked as the sales clerk rung her stuff up, and handed her the receipt which read that she had an estimate of $4,102.00 left on her card. 

"Never underestimate the power of a successful black woman," she told them as she grabbed her bags from the clerk.

You're welcome" Nakia said with confidence as she exited the store.

"I bet you'll think twice about judging someone based on their appearance," she thought to herself.

The sale clerks faces became red in the face as they watched her exit the store.....

Getting inside of the car, she was greeted by Stevenson.

"Well that was fast," he said as he watched her bring at least "7 bags worth of material" in the car.

"I told you I was going to be fast" she reminded him.

"Let's get to King of Prussia mall"

"I'm ready to do more shopping," Nakia told him with enthusiasm.

"Women," he said rolling his eyes.

They both giggled as he sped off.
