                              Darkness Comes To Light

Gifted:

I managed to get back to the limousine myself. I started to feel a lot of cramping. The physical pain was nothing compared to the "emotional pain," I was feeling inside. Devon had hurt me many times before but this time, his words damaged me in more ways I could ever imagine.

"Take me home" I instructed.

The driver took off......

Meanwhile:

After the meeting was over with, Nakia dialed my number several times.

"Chris has you seen Gifted?" she asked.

"No I thought she was with you" he replied.

"I went outside to look for her, but she was gone as soon as I got out there" Nakia revealed.

"She looked tired, and exhausted earlier, so she probably went home to get some rest" he reassured Nakia.

Nakia nodded her head.

Devon "is going to be "pissed" at the fact, she left so early,y," Nakia said nervously.

She watched as everyone said their goodbyes, and got up from the table.

Devon glanced over at Nakia, as she talked to Chris. He noticed that I was no longer "present" in the room.

"Where is Gifted?" Devon asked with concern.

"She uh-- wasn't feeling well so she decided to go home early,y," Nakia said.

Devon knew Nakia, was trying to protect her best friend.

He knew she was "lying."

"I'll let this slide once, but that type of behavior, won't be tolerated during an important meeting,s" Devon said in a serious tone.

"Tell her she better not pull this stunt again" Devon warned.

"Devon I'm sorry, she was drunk, that wasn't like her, she never drinks" Nakia confessed.

"Have her come to my office tomorrow morning."

"She is required to be there on time."

"There are some things I would like to discuss with her "personally" Devon revealed.

"Ummm hmmm, you may be fine, but you aren't slick Devo,n," Nakia thought to herself.

She knew he wanted to talk to her about what she said at the meeting.

Nakia nodded her head and left out the door to greet Stevenson.

Devon suddenly diverted his attention to Chris.

Chris:

Walking up to Chris, he got straight to the point.

"Did you have fun getting her drunk tonight?" Devon asked.

"What was the point in that?"

"Are you satisfied with the results?" Devon asked as he glared at Chris, who now stood before him nervous.

"You knew we had a meeting yet, you allowed her to get drunk" Devon snapped.

"Whoa, buddy calm down!"
