                                               Chapter 16:

                                     Business Proportion

Several weeks later:

Time flew by after the little altercation me, and Nakia had with Devon Richardson, I utilized my time by working and writing songs. Nakia, got into the habit of recording videos of my performances by doing so, my fanbase started to increase, especially since I  had that little fight with "Zahara Thomas over Devon Richardson."

I was the talk of the town for a few weeks but eventually, everyone forgot I even existed. The only thing people talked about now was "Zahara Thomas, and Devon Richardson "oh, and how they made the best power couple for 2017." Both I and Nakia prepared for the talent show that would be coming as soon as Springtime hit.

Graduation Day-

This was our last day of college at Performing Arts "Chosen Ones" despite all the hardships, and challenges they were both graduating.

"We made it Nakia," told me. "

"Yes girl, we made it" I replied.

"Time sure does fly," I told her as I reminisced about all that had happened from the beginning of the school year to now.

We were both in the auditorium waiting to receive our awards, and hear the motivational speaker when he walked.

"Yes, Devon Richardson"

What is he doing here? I asked myself as I watched females gloat, and drool over his appearance.

"I don't know but he is still is fine as heck" Nakia insisted

I shot her an evil look, and then she started coughing to pretend like she had something stuck in her throat.

Devon walked up on stage, and glanced at me to let me know he had seen me." His looks sent chills down my spine."

                                                  🌟🌟🌟

Gifted:

"Oh God not again," I thought to myself as I pretended not to notice him looking my way.

I pulled out my mirror to check my reflection only to find him staring at me." His looks made me feel uneasy."

"Gifted," the person said over the speakers.

I got up out of my seat to accept my award.

People clapped for me as I accepted my award.

"I didn't come prepared with a speech," I told them.

"However, I do have a poem, that constantly motivates me, and challenges me for the better."

Nakia put her head down as she thought about me losing the baby

It's called "Scars"......

"You see I have these scars," I told them

Scars:

It's here easy and lucid for many to see
these scars which left a permanent mark as to the hardship and battles I have conquered in order to become me
I wear them as if they were embedded for the world to see
My scars tell a story as to why I'm a conqueror who has fought many battles that I was able to defeat
I embrace these scars which many acknowledge because if it weren't for these scars I wouldn't know what it's like to be robust
I wouldn't have been able to stand despite all the times I felt like I couldn't get back up when I fell
I wouldn't have been able to love myself and encourage others to do the same
My scars are a reminder that I'm more than someone who has a name
I have experienced defeat I have experienced sorrow I have experienced hardship and even pain
I fought many storms that no one knew about about
During many times my life symbolized "darkness and rain"
I have learned to love my scars because my scars are apart of my struggles and they help mold me into what I am manifested to become or be
Yes I have scars and these scars are the reason why I'm me
I am a fighter survivor conqueror and even a warrior
It took me a while but I'm finally learning to love and embrace my physical and Emotional Scars
