Ethan's POV

I spent 4 hours with Kathryn before I got a text from Grayson saying to get home and that my dad is mad.

I ran home and hopped into my window so I didn't have to see my dad. I texted Gray and told him I'm home. Then texted my mom to come up to my room.

I heard her walking up the stairs and open my door. "Ethan why is your father so mad at you."

"Mom can I ask you something."

"Of course sweetheart."

I just said the same thing Kat told me to say. "I meet this girl and I think I'm in love with her but we only meet a day ago, what does this mean."

She sat down on my bed and look at me, "Ethan I think... I think you have found your mate."

"But what if she's not a vampire."

"I've never heard of a vampire and a non-vampire being mates."

"But she isn't a vampire mom."

"Is she a werewolf."

"No."

"Ethan don't tell me she's a-"

"Yes she's a human."

"Ethan." She sounded so disappointed. 

"Mom it's not like I can do anything. She just came to the school today and I saw her walking up the stairs and it was like time stopped when she was there. I've never seen anyone more beautiful then Kathryn."

"So her name is Kathryn."

"Yes. She's the most amazing girl I've ever meet and I've been here for 132 years. No girl has ever had this effect on me."

"Ethan she's a human. Humans are supposed to be your food not your mate."

"Mom I don't drink human blood. That's wrong."

"You and your siblings need to realize that nothing is wrong with feeding off of humans. It's our life style. Vampires are supposed to drink human blood."

"Mother please we've been through this 1000 times. I drink whatever I want to drink and now I have my mate that your saying I have to feed off just because she's human. No. I'm sorry mother. I'm not feeding off my mate just because she's human."

"Ethan did you just talk to me like that. I can't believe you.  Your not aloud out of this house not even to see your little mate."

"Mom..."

"No Ethan you've never talked to me like that until you found this girl."

"I have to leave to go to school."

"No you don't."

"You have to be kidding me."

"Nope. And if I see your little mate around here I'll rip her head off."

I didn't say a word. I just looked at the ground. Then I thought, "Mom what about when I get hungry. We don't have animal blood in the house."

"You either drink blood bags or starve."

"You can't do that."

"Watch me." And with that she walked out of my room.
