Hiccup was woken up the next morning to guards clanging their axes, swords, and shields together. He groaned and pushed himself to wake up. A guard came up to his cell and stared for a moment.

"Can I help you?" Hiccup asked him sarcastically.

The guard cleared his throat and spoke, "Do you want breakfast before you are brought towards our chief?" Hiccup shook his head no, still not hungry. He could hardly sleep all night because he was worried about Toothless.

"Can I ask one question?" Hiccup asked when the guard turned on his feet to walk away. The guard stopped and turned to look at him.

"What is it?"

"Where is my dragon?" Hiccup was panicked. "Is he okay?"

"Yes, we're keeping him with some other dragons for the time being. There is no need to be worried. You will see him today at the hearing." The guard answered as quickly as he could and scurried away. Hiccup sighed into the silence and sat back down on his makeshift bed.

At least an hour had passed before Hiccup was visited by another guard. This time, he stood out among the others. He looked bigger, meaner, like he had to protect something more sacred them the other guards.

"Chief Alva of Drakkaey is ready to see you." Hiccup took in a deep breath and stood up. His arms were tied behind his back before they left. He was deep in his thoughts, trying to figure out where he was. When his father was talking of the islands he knew around Berk, he never once mentioned Drakkaey. Though he was not able to finish his lessons before his death.

Before Hiccup could finish his thought, he was in front of two large doors. He inhaled deeply as the doors opened. The room was lit by big windows and there was a long, black carpet leading up to the chiefs throne. There, on the throne, sat a female. A female chief was rather unusual though. Her long, brown hair was in waves down her sides. She had on light brown pants and a purple undershirt. Her brown, leather armour was underneath the metal armour. Her arm protectors were fur and her shoes were a light brown with fur around the top. As Hiccup was lead to the front, he got a closer look at her facial features. Her dark blue eyes sparkled under the light. She had prominent cheekbones and a small, but still plump, mouth.

When he noticed the guards bowing, he bowed as well. She was staring intently into his emerald green eyes. "What is your name?" She asked him, her Scottish accent quite evident.

"My name is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third." He replied to her, trying to come off as confident.

"And you are from which island?" She continued on her investigation.

"I am the chief of Berk."

Her eyes narrowed at those words, "Stoick would have sent me a notice if he was stepping down. Who are you really?" She asked him the same question.

"I really am the chief of Berk. My father, Stoick, passed a few months ago in battle with Drago Bludvist. He did not have the time to explain to me all I need to know about being chief, so I have never heard of Drakkaey." Hiccup explained the story to her.

"At least he kept his promise." Hiccup heard Alva whisper to herself. "I have a deal with all of the chiefs within a few hours from us that I will give them a monthly supply of products in exchange for keeping our island a secret to their tribe. I do not want any drama around here, so your arrival has given us a shock." She explained it all to the skinny boy standing in front of her.

"Anyways, back to the real reason you are in this room. Why did you come to Drakkaey?" She asked Hiccup.

"My dragon, Toothless, noticed a black dot in the air. We're both quite curious, so we came to see what it was. As you may have noticed, we still have no idea." He tried to lighten the mood in the room.

"And you will continue to not know." She told him and settled herself differently in the chair. "Guards, Hiccup and Toothless may be placed in the same cell until I have come to a decision. I won't take long but I cannot risk having them exposed to anything." She sent the guards off with Hiccup and Toothless. She let out a sigh and rubbed her forehead because of the stress of keeping the island's secret. He may be a dragon rider, but it would be high risk for anyone not planning to stay on the island to find out.
