*Alva's POV*

Once everyone we could save was safe with Tola and her apprentice, Signy, who was saved by her dragon, I could finally talk to Hiccup. I walked up to him with my hands by my sides, swaying them slightly. He was staring out towards the water, the calmness was ironic compared to the disaster that just happened.

"How do you really feel, Alva?" Hiccup asked me, sensing my presence.

"Absolutely terrible, to be frank. How else would I feel? Instead of protecting my village, I destroyed it." I answered him bluntly.

"It wasn't your fault." Hiccup spoke softly.

"Yeah, yeah, I did what I had to do is what you're going to say, right?" I asked him, mockingly. Hiccup stayed silent for a few minutes.

"What are you going to do now?" He asked as he finally turned around to face me.

"Honestly? I don't know. Drakkaey is destroyed, we don't have many survivors, and I have no idea how many dragons we have." I told him. "I guess try to clean up and live as a village of fifty, yeah?"

"You can come back to Berk." Hiccup offered, though I thought he had to be joking. I chuckled a bit but he didn't, making me realize he was serious.

"Wait, Hiccup, are you joking?" I asked, wide-eyes.

"Of course not. We can build extra houses, and in the meantime, we have a few empty ones they can live in. You can stay with my mom and I, if you'd like, or I'm sure Astrid would love to have you. And the dragons would never be a problem, we just have to round the, up. What are friends for?" He said, getting a bit excited.

"You're just saying that because you feel bad."

"Of course I feel bad, but it's certainly not the only reason I'm saying this." He said with a shrug and walked back to Astrid and VaIka started following him until Signy came up to me, feeling quite stressed and rushed. "What's wrong?" I asked her, very concerned. She had to gain her breath back before she could answer me.

"Chief, we've lost ten already. Tola is working hard still, but she is very concerned about this little girl. I guess all this little girl has ever wanted was a conversation with the chief, but her parents always told her you were too busy-"

"I'll be there in a few minutes." I cut her off and walked over to Hiccup, Astrid, and Val. "Duty calls, but I'll be back in a little bit. Do you think you could start calling out for the dragons?" I asked them hopefully.
