"Eret, we'll be close by." I said to him as we dropped him off by Drago's hideaway.
"I won't let you down." He said and jumped off of Toothless. Hiccup and I flew up on the dragons to a dark ledge to hide.
"So Hiccup, who is being the distraction if Eret gets caught?" I asked him as I stayed in a ready position on Thunder.
"I can, if you'd like." He said quietly back to me. "Then you can swoop in and save Eret."
"Awe, you took the more fun job." I said and let my position slouch.
"Oh well, a chief protects his own." He told me, not budging from his spot on Toothless.
"I'm a chief, y'know." I scoffed and rolled my eyes, though he couldn't see it.
"But on Berk, you're my guest." He answered, finally sitting up more to really talk. "If anything goes wrong, make sure you and Eret stay safe." He said sternly, bringing his good foot over Toothless to slide off of him effortlessly.
"Fine, but only out of respect for your position, okay? If I wasn't a chief, I'd fight you for it." I told him. "And I'd win."
"You would not win." Hiccup jeered.
"I've been in way more fights than you have..." I took a pause before mumbling, "probably."
"No way, Alva. You're too small." He teased.
"You wanna go, Haddock?" I said, getting a bit fired up. "I could take you any day, I could take anyone any day for that matter."
Hiccup took off his mask and I followed suit, pushing him lightly in the chest. The dragons sat idly by, watching the matter take place. Hiccuped lightly pushed me backwards, and I followed with a punch to his arm.
"You got quite a punch." He said, faking surprise. I chuckled lightly and rolled my eyes.
"You're an idiot." I told him and pushed him backwards once more. This time, though, Toothless took me by the leg and got over top of me before giving me a big, slobbery lick right up my frontside. "Toothless! That's gross!" I screeched, not realizing where we were. Hiccup quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me over to him, putting a hand over my mouth.
"Sh, or they'll find us." Hiccup said, moving into a laying position. Toothless and Thunder moved deeper into our hiding spot as well and laid down. I didn't say another word, but my the concern in my eyes gave me away to Hiccup.
"Don't be so worried, we'll be fine." He said and moved closer to me. "Just stay low." I nodded and pushed myself so far into the ground I felt like we had become one. We laid there for so long I felt like hours had passed, but in reality, it was probably only maybe half of one.
"I think Eret should be safe now." I said finally and started to move closer to the ledge.
"I hope so, it's been a while."
"I don't see him anywhere." I said, sitting up a bit more. "Thunder, over here." I called for my dragon. He sat next to me and scanned the area before giving me a shrug and let me get on him. "I'm going to search from the sky. Stay here, just in case." I told Hiccup and took off. I flew around a bit before I heard deep viking yelling from the ground. I looked down to see Eret in the center of, what looked like, some very angry vikings. My eyes widened at this and I flew back to Hiccup.
"Hiccup!" I yelled as I landed. "Where are you?" I didn't see him at first, but after a few minutes, I found him and Toothless napping in a far corner.
"We have to go." I told him as I shook him awake.
"What?" Hiccuped said, very groggy still.
"Eret needs us, let's go." I said and got back on Thunder to move into action.
