"Some may suggest this was poorly conceived."

"So, I'll need you all to tell me which you prefer." I said to the group consisting of Valka, Hiccup, Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, and Ruffnut and Tuffnut. "No front door or no roof?" I said, slightly joking.

"I'd say no roof." Snotlout said, the twins agreeing with him.

"Then you three get that house." I said and gestured to the one near mine.

"I'll take doorless." Fishlegs said. I showed him to the house opposite of mine, along with Astrid.

"Doorless or roofless, Hic?" I asked with a small smile.

"Roofless, I think." Hiccup told me.

"Me too." Valka added on.

"Well fortunately for you, Snotlout and the twins' house only fits three people. You can take that one." I said and pointed to the one right next to mine, missing just enough roof to see into mine at the top floor. I hadn't even gotten around to looking to my house's damage.

"Thank you, Alva." Valka said and lead Cloudjumper into the home.

"Goodnight, Al." Hiccup said and I sent a glare his way before remembering I gave him permission to use that.

"Goodnight." I said and walked away with Thunder by my side. "So, bud. Looks like our place is doorless and roofless." I said, putting emphasis on the 'and'. Thunder grunted in response and laid down next to Dreamclaw, who had begun snoring. "Really? I get to sleep all on my own?" I said, acting insulted. Thunder lifted his head to look at me, gave me quite the stink eye, and laid his head back down. I rolled my eyes at the sassy dragon and climbed the stairs to reach my room.

Once I had changed in a spot that I hoped was private, but couldn't be sure thanks to the giant hole, I laid down in my bed and shut my eyes. I hoped that sleep would come to me but it was beginning to seem like I had no luck. I sighed and sat up again, waiting to see if maybe lifting my head through the hole to get fresh air would help. Once again, no such luck. I looked over to the room Hiccup was in and hoped maybe he would be awake, but he wasn't. I walked over to the side of the room closest to his and tried to say his name loud enough without waking anyone else.

"Hiccup, wake up." I tried to say a bit louder but he didn't even twitch. Instead, Toothless picked up his head and looked at me with groggy eyes. He seemed to have forgotten about the giant hole and was startled at first, but quickly remembered and came over to me. He looked at me with his big green eyes and what looked like a small smile. I smiled back and reached over the small gap between the houses to pet him.
