The bell finally rings, signifying the end of the school day. I bolt out of my seat and out of the classroom in the direction of my locker.

People stop to talk in the middle of the hallway and clutter all the free space with their books and bags. With a huff, I swiftly push my way through the crowd, inwardly cringing at how many feet I was stepping on.

Sorry people, I think to myself.

In my defense, it isn't my fault that if I take longer than five minutes to get to my locker and get to the parking lot that my "dear" older brother, Rodney, leaves me.

Weaving through the crowd gets a little bit easier as I get closer to my locker, making me sigh in relief.

Just one more corner...

Someone's shoulder bumps against my own and sends me flying backwards into some random girl's locker.

"What the hell?!" the girl shrieks. "I just freaking opened that!"

I shakily stand up and glare at her. She looks away and grumbles under her breath, but says no more to me.

When my eyesight finally clears up, I continue the journey to my locker and quickly exchange the books in my backpack for the books I need for homework.

My watch's alarm goes off, letting me know that I only had a minute left to get outside. I slam my locker shut and sprint down the hallway, exiting the school.

Even the Flash couldn't win this race.

I quickly check my watch and see that it is 3:04p.m.

One minute left!

My legs start moving faster and faster, carrying me to the parking lot.

Made it! I inwardly whooped.

Unfortunately, my victory is short-lived. I realize that I am unable to slow myself down in time and end up slamming into the passenger's side of someones car.

My backpack yanks me back and topples off of my shoulders, causing me to crumple to the ground.

"Ouch," I mumble, rolling onto my side.

"Yikes, that looked like quite the fall." a masculine voice says, sounding high up.

I roll onto my back and look up, my eyes catching the gaze of a pair of dark chocolate brown eyes.

"Need some help?" the owner of the eyes asks as he moves so that he is standing beside me and holds his hands out.

Darren Stephenson?!

I grab ahold of his hands and allow him to hoist me up. My hands immediately raise and I brush the dirt and grime off of my clothes in attempt to look somewhat presentable.

Yeah right. I just fell and practically busted my behind.

Ground - one, me - zero.

With a sigh I mutter, "So you saw all of that, huh?"

The question was mostly rhetorical, but nonetheless the boy smiles and admits, "Yeah."

I nod, embarrassment seeping into my brain.

At least you're blush won't show, my brain says in an attempt to make me feel better.

Whatever.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone about it. Well, I won't if you do something for me."

He winks.

My eyebrows knit together in confuzzlement. What the heck could I do for this guy?

I shrug and say, "Name it."
