[REQUEST - I KNOW IT ISN'T THE CHRISTMAS SEASON BUT AH WELL]

To say Christmas excited you was an understatement. After your transition into the superhero life, things like holidays felt understated.  Maybe you go a little overboard but... who doesn't?

"Why does it look like Santa threw up in here?"

"Tony, let the girl decorate however she wants to." A small smile ghosted on Steve's face as he defended you. You were pretty sure Tony didn't hear anything Steve said as he batted around one of the many paper snowflakes that you'd hung from the ceiling. "I'm gonna guess this took you... a while?"

"A very long time but it was worth it." All of the Avengers shared smirks as they looked on at you, currently pacing the room excitedly. Bucky's eyes remained fixed on you as he looked in your direction with an adoring smile.

-

"Come on, Luigi is better than Mar-" Bucky's sentence stopped short as he entered the Avengers facility. The walls were dented and scratched up. Most pieces had been turned over or broken in half. Ornaments were smashed. Books were ripped. All of your decorations were ruined. "Oh my gosh..."

"What happened?" Bucky asked Wanda who was exiting the lift with Vision and Clint behind her. "We think it was HYDRA. Not sure yet but this was definitely an enemy attack." Bucky looked towards you, trying to gather up the remains of your decorations. "Can you tell everyone to be at the meeting room at 9?"

-

"What, o great capsicle assassin, has made you force a team meeting on us?" Tony Stark teased, waltzing into the room. The general mood of the team was solemn. Although everyone stood together, it was as if everyone was apart.

"I have something that I need all of you to help me with."

Everyone's eyes glanced upwards towards Bucky. Bucky, of all people, rarely spoke to many members of the team let alone asked anyone for help. "You have our attention." Wanda clarified and Bucky nodded, before proceeding.

"As you know we've recently found ourselves in a sticky situation... with the vandalism and all. But there's one person who this is a little trickier on than everyone else..."

"(Y/N)?" Sam questioned upon noticing you weren't in the room with them. "Exactly."

"You may or may not know what happened to her a few Christmas' ago."

"What happened, Mister Barnes?" Vision enquiried. Being a new addition to the team and not that close to you, he was completely unaware.

"A few years back, on Christmas Day, (Y/N) returned home only to find her family had been murdered. It was assumed that it was some kind of 'revenge ploy' but that didn't make it any easier. Why else do you think she exerts all of her energy into festivities?"

"And I was being a dick about it. Fantastic." Tony huffs, clearly annoyed at himself.

"There is one way you can help me make it up to her."

"All ears, snow cone."

You entered the Avengers facility met with the same, tattered lobby that brought you a sense of despair. You simply diverted your attention from it and continued your treck through the wreck.

Entering the sitting room, you noticed how no one was around. It made you feel ever so slightly on edge so you reached for the nearest object that could be used as a weapon, in this case the only vase that hadn't been broken, and held it tightly in your hands. You held the vase above your head, ready to swing as you opened the door to the rooftop area where Tony would throw all of his parties.

"SUPRISE!" you stumbled back in surprise, letting the vase fall from your hands to the floor. You were met with all of the Avengers in Christmas jumpers and party hats surrounded by a perfectly decorated room. There was tinsel lining every inch of the ceiling, a huge Christmas tree, an inflatable Santa and even a neatly decorated gingerbread house with a gingerbread person for each of the Avengers.

"Oh my goodness. Thank you so much, you guys."

"Thank Bucky. You got yourself a keeper, (Y/N)." Natasha smirked as Bucky waltzed over to you. His cheeks flamed slightly but all you could focus on was how adorable he looked in a Christmas sweater.

"Thank you, Buck."

"Anything for you, my dear."
