**P.S. I wrote this story a long time ago (2012!) and I am very aware of the grammar errors and so. Just a bit of a fair warning as well.**

Chapter 1 - Run, and don't look back

"Run, and don't look back," her mother said to her, almost in a whisper. It was the last words her mother ever said to her, the words were simple; it came out clearly even though her mother was trembling terribly... but why couldn't she?

She just couldn't.  Everything was happening way too fast for her, she couldn't catch up. All she knew was that she was staring back at her mother.

Not only at her mother, but the person beside her. No, the words came out wrongly, because, he's nowhere near the word, 'person'.

He's not a person, he's inhuman. His face that she thought was a human, changed, his face was getting paler than before, his eyes were somehow changing colors, like silver then yellow then violet, but the thing that scare her the most was that his once normal human looking teeth, were now like a canine's.

They appeared in stories and movies. He was evil; she could sense it, a creature, to live, hunt and kill. She has never been so certain before...

     He was a vampire.

The adults said it weren't true, how could all of this be true?  But they were all wrong. It was happening, not to anyone, but her. She was the unlucky one.

He's holding her mother's neck now, a little too roughly. But what could a weak, small and scared girl like her do? She didn't need to pinch herself to know that this isn't a nightmare, it's real. Dark rich blood was streaming down her mother's pale neck. All she could do is stare back in horror.

There was no way she could save her mother, so she was going to have to save herself. She ran and never looked back, just like what her mother said to her, her mother's last words.

The same story flashes back before her eyes. She remembered every single thing. How could she forget? She was now looking at herself in the mirror. She wasn't as young as before. She's sixteen, stunning and definitely more beautiful. She has beautiful green eyes like a cat's, light blonde hair that is slightly wavy and pinkish red lips.

She can have an emotionless and a non readable face if she wants to. She could scare people away with one glance if she's in a bad mood.

She's a vampire hunter. She kills; she wants to show the disgusting creatures how it feels like to be hurt – she wanted revenge. She has been learning about vampires from other vampire hunters and has been training to fight. She had made herself stronger.

Vampire can only die if you stake them. With wood. Only wood.

She had first killed a vampire when she was ten, and even since then, she's been really good at killing vampires. She lives with her Aunt Sarah, and her Aunt's son, Stephen. Stephen is still very young. Her aunt has no clue about anything, about her past, and she's planning to keep it that way.

After all, she tried when she was still little, explaining to the police about what happened, but of course, failed. They laughed it off and asked her to explain what really happened.

She was rage in fury and told herself to never tell anyone again. She was going to have to deal with it herself.
